Engagement Photo Session

My mother and I were talking, and she wanted to have engagement portraits done of DF and me. She was talking about using a photographer here in NJ that I used for my Bat Mitzvah and who was wonderful, but I think she is rather expensive.

I remember reading somewhere some pricing for engagement photos in Orlando and since DF and I are going down in January I was considering have some done there. Does anyone know the pricing of DPS, Misty, Randy or the Roots? Would anyone recommend them for engagement shoots? Are you only allowed in parks for the others or is it still only DPS?

We had the Roots for an e-shoot and we loved them! The link for the pics is in my PJ. The e-shoot is included in our wedding package.

Outside Photographers are not allowed to shoot in Disney Parks, so if you went with any of the three you would have to have a shoot at one of the resorts.

I looked into everyone that you mentioned above once I changed my opinion of doing an Epcot honeymoon session with DPS (plus we needed to save money), especially at the time when I had the bad photogo for my wedding (but I have the good one and we are doing a honeymoon session at disney with them )

Okay to your question:

I'm using Studio222 for my wedding and they do an engagement session for $350 for 2 hours and a DVD.

Roots is $350 for 2 hours and DVD, but they have a tentative wedding in Tokyo Disney

Misty had the best package $400, the prices are on her website.

Randy, not sure, I did not care for his style (that's just my opinion).

We used Misty and our photos were great. We had photos done at the WL and the Poly. As we were also using her for our wedding photos we were given a discount on our engagement photos. I am having trouble with my photobucket account but when I get it cleared up I will post a few photos.

We had an engagement shoot with the Roots (it was included in our wedding package). Although you can't go in the parks with a non-Disney photographer, you can still take pictures with the castle in the background from various vantage points outside the parks (if that's a big deal to you).

We did our session at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian. Sorry in advance for all the smooching...

Hi! I used Randy and he was excellent!!! I believe his engagement shoot was about $250 (not 100% sure), but it was included w/ the photo package we bought. I have a feeling we'll be doing the local just so we can them in time for our engagement party, but I'd love to do a Disney shoot. All DF requested is that his hair grow back before we do this! He shave his head at the beginning of the summer.

We had Randy do our e-pics and they were about $300. We liked using Randy because DH, who doesn't like to get his picture taken, was able to get used the photographer we were using on the day of the wedding. That might be something to think about as well.

It's also a good time to try out a cosmetologist so you can see what your makeup will look like in pictures.
