So, I am trying to come up with a good and inexpensive favor for my engagement party (which will be in May/June). The only thing I am coming up with is a little puch of hershey kisses with a tag that says "hugs and kisses from the future Mr. and Mrs." Is that completely cheesy and non creative??
I am looking for any ideas that you all may have!!! Thanks a bunch!

:rotfl: I don't think that's cheesy....but then again, that is going to be my favors for the wedding!!! I'm wrapping the kisses in pink tulle and putting them in little blue pails. Blue and pink are our colors. Then I'm putting that saying on something (not sure what yet) and tying it to the pail.

I think it's a cute idea for an engagment party!! Good luck figuring out what to do!!! :thumbsup2

I think your hershey kiss idea is cute! :thumbsup2
I didn't have an engagement party :sad1: ...but if I did I would have liked to see a "ring" theme...you know...the favors could be funky, fun...mood rings! or big, cheesy plastic rings you might find at a toy counter! :rotfl: I would have put a tag on each of them that said something like "He bent down on one knee...and asked for her hand in marriage...and she whipped out the Tiffany Catalog!"
It sounds cheesy, but I thought it might be fun!

That is adorable! Not cheesy at all! Sooo creative.

I read on another wedding website somebody did this. Put the kisses on plastic spoons and wrapped tulle around them to keep them in place. Then on the tag put 'A spoonful of kisses from x and x'.

Or for a bridal shower I helped host, we put the kisses in plastic champagne glasses.

I did this for my sister-in-law's bridal shower only I put the kisses in a ice cream scoop and wrapped it in the tulle and the tag said "a scoop full of kisses from the soon to be mrs" I got the idea from a friend who did it for her wedding. I think it's a cute idea!

I went to a shower where they gave out a pear shaped candle. (Yes, like the fruit!) There was a note pinned in them that said, "Thank you from the perfect pear!" I thought it was real cute, all the floral arrangement had a pear in them also...very cute and different theme I thought.

Mrs. Disney Ron

Princess -- Unfortunately I don't have a theme. That would make life easier but I can not come up with one that I love.

Moonpie -I like the idea of using rings some how. Hmmmm....

DisneyFairy - LOVE the boxes. Looking at them at first I thought they were tiffany's from the color. Easy to do as well!

I also love all the variations on the kiss thing.

Thanks so much for all your insite!! I will take a picture of what I end up doing an post it!

Here is a pic of my engagement favor- we had chocolate mickey and minnie heads in them. The glass slipper was our dessert...amazing

We're having a second reception the night after the wedding at the Health Central(DF's mom works there). It will be for DF's friends and family from childhood- since he grew up in orlando. I'm using assorted flavors of hugs and kisses - 2 of them, wrapped in red cellophane and attached to a floral stem. From a distance they look just like rose buds. I will make a leaf that says something like your saying. I'll put those in a vase with crystals at the bottom, and it will double as my centerpieces.

My engagement party was last summer and we did a beach theme in my MIL back yard. She made tin sand buckets with shell shaped chocolate for the favors. I dont have pics of the favors, but I do have some other things that were done.

Everyones favorite touch had to be the plastic engagement rings tied to the little cups. By the end of the night everyone was wearing the rings.

filled with yellow and white M&M's (our colors) with a tag that says "Celebrating the perfect fit...Tonianne and Mike's engagement party ?/?/2007"

Thoughts??

That is a very cute idea! You could wrap them in tulle. I think that could be very pretty. You know they sell yellow and white bags of M&M's for easter now. I think they have pink and blue too.

we did save the date magnets with our picture an date and wedding website on them. we also gave a little tulle filled back of candy tied with a brown and blue ribbon for our wedding colors. we somehow found the perfect color blue m & m's and used that and brown if i remember correctly! everyone loved it :goodvibes
