I am looking for a restaurant idea or any idea. This is for my niece - she lives in Canada - we live in the states. We just found out over the phone she is engaged. In a few weeks we will be in Orlando and she will be with us I would like to have a surprise dinner for her. I cannot come up with any place to have it on site or off site. Of course I looked at CRT and they are booked - just something I can do a little special as everyone she told was over the phone. Maybe someplace I can have a cake brought to the table? Any ideas?? Thanks

What about California Grill so you can view the fireworks. It may be hard to get an ADR now though.

That would be good but can’t get one of those either. I Would also like to make it earlier than that would be as my 83 year old mom will be with us and can’t make it to late for her.

You could do Narcoossee or Citricos at the GF. If you get an early California Grill reservation, you can return to the observation deck for fireworks with your receipt from the same day.

I will keep checking. Unfortunately we are leaving the 22nd of this month so those places are booked. Thanks

We just tried Artist Point this last trip and we booked it a week prior. It was wonderful. I don't know what type of setting you were looking for. You could also check out the Epcot area resorts as well.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is really good food and not too hard of a reservation to get. Their truffle Mac and Cheese is sooo good! And the rolls are really good too. So is there steak.

We did out engagement dinner at California Grill. They went all out for us! Going earlier would work for your mom and as previously said, you can go back for the Fireworks. I also recommend going to Mizner’s at GF for an after dinner/fireworks drink. The bartender kept announcing our engagement to the bar. It was funny!

Perhaps you could go to Grand Floridian Cafe. It is a beautiful restaurant and maybe they could set something up for the celebration.

Thanks I will look at that. I booked paddlefish, I thought on the water could be nice and a cake can be brought in from a bakery in Disney springs. So I grabbed that for now.

California Grill, Jiko, Monsieur Paul, Flying Fish would all be good options.

Have you checked reviews? I didn’t think that there were many good ones.

If you could let us know what is currently available for the date you are looking for, we could probably give you recommendations on those specific restaurants. Unfortunately, I'm afraid most of us are going to suggest restaurants that may not have availability this close to your travel dates.

Pick a couple places and set ADR finders for them from Touring Plans. We are going in about a month and I had a hard time getting some of the ADRs I wanted, but ended up getting everything at the exact times I wanted using the ADR finder.
