Engaged for 1 month & Planning a DISNEY WEDDING!!!

Hello everyone!

My fiance and I became engaged on 7.4.06 and have decided to have our dream wedding in Disney! I am so eager to begin planning! We live in Westchester County, NY and have planned a trip to Disney World Oct. 11-15 and have booked an appointment with the team on the 11th. I cannot wait to start talking to all of you girls so that we can share ideas, thoughts, stresses (my MOTHER!) and everything else! I can't post pictures for some reason so I am adding a link to my xanga which includes pics of my dress & ring.. (the dress is an Eve of Milady - a gorgeous Cinderella gown!)

GOOD CHOICE!! I wish I had done a Disney wedding along with my Disney honeymoon. Weddings are probably much less stressful at Disney! Don't stress about it and good luck on your big day. Again, smart choice!!!

Congrats!!! You will love meeting with the wedding team...things kind of seem a bit more real at that point. There are SOO many choices...even without a budget it can be overwhelming. Just prioritize what is important to you and make sure your planner knows!

We are planning our WDW wedding for next Sept/Oct - we will set the date when we go down on Oct. 11th!

I am a bit nervous about creating the budget. Whenever I ask my parents about it they tell me not to worry and to just make sure that I am happy but I am not really sure that I can follow that advice. I do not want to break my father or in anyway upset him.. My dress ended up being a lot more than I had planned on spending and while he did not bat an eyelash, I still feel soo guilty! He is getting off easy because the venues that I liked in our area (Manhattan) were starting at about 200/pp so this is a walk in the park for him

Does anyone have any advice before we go down there? Would it be possible to stay under/around 55k?

We met with the Disney Wedding Team right after we got engaged.

How many people? I think 55K is very reasonable budget. It's more than twice what I spent I had 99 guests and a very simple (as simple as Disney does) event. Go, pick out everything you think you want...and then give the estimated budget to your dad and see what needs to be cut or pared down...Have fun!!
