Just noticed thread on resorts board about week of sept 22-29 crowds. Someone stated that unofficial guide states crowd will be an "8" level out of 10 (10 being the heaviest crowds). Does anyone know of anything going on at WDW at this time that would indicate such heavy crowds? May rethink vacation plans if this is true.

Huh? I think they're more like a 2. We went that week last year and it was dead (but Frances was coming) and we plan on going the week of the 18th-25th this year and expect very low crowds.

I was there September last year...and am going in September this year. Don't change your plans (unless you fear hurricanes!). The parks were dead!!! We literally walked onto almosts every ride (and never waited more than 10 minutes). We only had 2 1/2 days to do everything we wanted to do...and we did it all because we walked fast and didn't waste time in any ride lines. The fastpass system wasn't even working and we didn't need any PS...we walked into the restaurants we wanted to go to.

We went 9/10-20 last year, and the crowds were nonexistent the first part of the trip, getting just slightly heavier after a few days. I heard Oct was much more crowded, which is when we are going this year. I think last year's travel was affected greatly by the hurricanes. Hopefully this year will be a bit more consistent. I wouldn't expect late Sept to be crowded at all. Wish I could go back then also.
