How crazy is the last week of Sept???

If we book for free dining, we'd check in on 9/19 and stay through 9/27. If we wait until 9/24 and stay through 9/30, will it be any less busy? I really want the free dining, but it would mean the kids will miss an extra day of school, and we might run into more people. Will 5 days (and the end of free dining being offered) make any difference?

It is going into the Food & Wine Festival. We went last year around end of Sept to Oct 6th. I thought the parks was more busy than the last time we went. But most of the crowds at MK was because of the weekend. Epcot was busy due to the Food & Wine. But it wasn't that bad that you couldn't handle it. MHO :)

Once you get into the F&W festival it can vary greatly.Obviously the biggest crowds are still at Epcot. But I actually thought it was busier during the F&W festival then during free dining.During free dining the ride lines were low, but CS and TS restaurants were PACKED..I just learned to eat at off times (10:45 for lunch instead of 11:30 and the earliest dinner seatings at TS) and I was fine.:goodvibes

We were there last year during free dining from 9/20-9/28 and we didn't think the crowds were bad at all;) Waits for rides weren't more than 20 minutes or so:goodvibes
