Planning on going to Universal/SeaWorld/Discovery Cove. Just starting to plan. When do you think is the best time? Late May/Early June for Late September? I am concerned about weather and crowds. Thanks in advance. I have never been to anything besides Disney so it is fun learning all about this. It will be me, DH & DD (6 years old). Any general suggestions are appreciated too. Thanks so much!

I went early June this year to US and IOA and the crowds were minimal. Weather was perfect, only rained once while we were there. We literally walked on a lot of the rides. I have never been there in late Sept. so I can't comment on that. :)

i have gone all of the three time periods you have mentioned.

i found late september appealed to us the most.

weather was good, a lot less rain than late may and early june, low crowds and onsite hotels had the low season rate on their rooms.

That won't be the case this year with WWoHP opening. I would expect huge crowds...especially in summer. The years of minimal crowds are going to come to and end very soon.

Is the Harry Potter supposed to open by early June? I was leaning towards then....We are not interested in the Harry Potter stuff (dd is too young). Will this make the entire park more crowded or do you think everyone will gravitate towards HP? Thanks!

We still aren't sure of the opening date but I would think early June would find it open. WWoHP will make everything crowded...not just that area.

I agree with you metro cause WWOHP is going to make extremly crowded :thumbsup2

I think the experts agree with your crowd estimates. When the first stories came out the talking heads all but directly said that WWoHP would change the entire face of attendance at the Orlando parks. They were implying that IoA would likely surpass some of the Disney parks in annual attendance. I am hopeful that the park can handle the additional visitors without making it a miserable place. All the more reason to stay onsite.

Sorry to be such a pest but I am still up in the air as to when we should go. Now I am thinking the second or third week of May or the second or third week of September. The only thing I am worrying about September is that DD will be starting 1st grade in a new school (though it will be early enough that they are not really doing much work yet) and the crowds because of Harry Potter. That is why I am still leaning towards mid-May and keep fingers crossed that they don't open HP earlier than that...What do you guys think?

The weather is May is much better than September (can be very humid) and there is no threat of hurricanes. I would go in May if I had to choose.

I agree with Metro...May would be my choice if only for the reluctance to take a first grader out of school.

We're going the end of May and have about 5 times now. The weather can be humid and hot, about the same as in September but with no threat of hurricanes. The crowds are less in September, but we have a 6 yr old also and I hate taking him out of school when he just starts a new year. Don't get me wrong, we still take him out of school to go on vacations - just not in the first month or so. May's our favorite month. :goodvibes

Have a great time whichever month you choose. :thumbsup2
