How busy will it be the end of August? Our daycare is closed the last week so thinking of booking the trip that week.

We were there at the same time this year for the 1/2 Marathon. We arrived on the Monday and left the following Monday. Tues, Wed, Thurs, were quite light and we accomplished alot (arrived early morning and took a afternoon break and back to the parks around 5 each day) but by Friday it had gotten considerably busy compared to the beginning of the week but not unbearable. We've gone at other times of the year (May, June, July) and found the last week of August to be much lighter. I think the longest we waited was 20-25 mins and that was for CarsLand. DH said that for future visits, he'd pick the same time as alot of the rides had short waits with some walk on.

i was just in socal from the 27th-the 3rd (labour day) we went to disneyland on tuesday and it was amazing all the rides were walk on the longest wait was splash at about 20-25 mins cause it was sooo hot, then the runaway train at about 15 mins, and all the fast pass booths were open so the second rides on those to were total walk ons... after that we went to universal, knotts and sea world we did knotts and universal wens-thursday and they were DEAD everything total walk on with no wait for anything they were even running ghost cars on some rides, we then went to sea world saturday it was busy but managable... i think there rides are so busy becuase they really only have like 3 of them but even by about 8 the 3 were all walk on (expect for the new manata ride) but when we went to disneyland sunday monday it was alittle busy, not crazy busy the rides were limited waits expect carsland we went and waited about about 20 minutes for the mater ride and didnt wanna bother waiting the 3 hours for rsr. over all i think for being a long weekend aswell at the marathon it was pretty good crowd wise, but i would work in atleast a day at each park durning the week if your gonna be there during the long weekend, although we got everything we wanted done in ca sunday and that was getting there at 1 and having a princess lunch aswell.

Okay doesn't sound too bad. We're seasoned WDW guests so know our way around FPs and will have several days in the parks so no rush to get to everything.

Thanks!

We also just returned from a late August trip (Mon 27th - Thurs 30th) and found the park to be the lightest, by far, that we have ever been. They still had everything running in full Summer mode with only one ride (HM) down for the Halloween overlay. To us it was the best of all win/win situations. DH and I agreed that we would not hesitate to visit at this time of year again in the future. As previous posters stated, ride times were totally managable. CS, Soarin and BTM did not even require Fastpasses most of the time (imagine.....Soarin basically a walk on early evening....crazy right). We used Fastpasses for everything else and were able to go on everything multiple times (Splash 6X in a day, Space 3X, Star Tours 5X, BTM lost track, all in a day). The weather was warmer than we've been previously, but it always cooled down at night and we were able to enjoy the pool!

Hope you are able to plan your trip that time and have as great of a time as we did!! :thumbsup2

I just posted an end of august trip report. You can see it in my signature. Have fun!

Thanks both Babybears and zeferjen! Need to start reading some DL TRs and getting the feel of DL again over WDW!
