We are thinking of doing a few days at the end of August. We are looking at the last two weeks of August. Either week is after the AP blackout is lifted. My initial thinking was to do mid-week the last week of August. I know to avoid the 26th due to the CHOC walk. Other than that, is one week better than the other?

We will definitely be gone before Labor Day weekend. We don't care about HM being closed. Our main concern is the nighttime shows, particularly WOC.

DLR usually switches to the non-peak/low season schedule by the end of August. WOC should be showing nightly, but fireworks, F!, and the nighttime parade (if there is one) may only show on weekends by that time. If WOC is the only nighttime show on the weekdays by that time, the shows will be very crowded. Also, park hours may be shorter by the last week in August. If you can swing a few days before the AP blockouts lift, that might be better. The crowds will be better and the parks will be able to handle them better. You should have longer hours and a full entertainment schedule then, too.

So before the AP blackout lifts the nighttime entertainment should be every night? Thanks!!

Or if there is no way I can do dates during the blackout is going around the 22nd to close to when the AP blackout lifts on the 19th? We are hoping to go for 3 nights so that would be a Wednesday through Friday.

We went last week of August last summer (the Tues - Fri leading up to labor day). Crowds were great (but it was really hot so that might have had an effect). Only thing to note though is that Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were closed due to the Halloween overlay. So if those are important to you, then you may want to go week prior. (For us, it was a bummer missing HM, but we did know before we came that it wouldn't be available)
