Disney To Tell Enhancted Fable

(digitalmediafx.com) Disney is in discussions with Adam Shankman to direct Enchanted, a romantic fable that mixes live action and animation. The film is being produced by Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld. Sunil Perkash will serve as executive producer.

Enchanted begins as an animated tale about a beautiful young peasant girl who meets and falls in love with a prince. After being banished from the cartoon kingdom by an evil queen, the peasant girl ends up in New York. From there, the film is live action. She falls in love in New York, but the fairytale ending becomes complicated when the animated prince ventures into the city to find her. The evil queen goes to New York as well, with the goal of destroying the peasant girl.

As with all projects, it depends entirely on how good the story is. This one doesn't sound too bad, but the execution will be important.

Is this a motion picture release, or a Disney Channel / ABC Sunday night type or release? If it is a motion picture release, is it a Princess Diary sort of level of release, or an animated feature sort of level of release?
