This will be our 5th trip w/ds7 & ds8 and we have never went to this attraction. Not because we avoided it on purpose but we just never heard much about it. So, I am obviously now looking for any comments regarding it. Is it funny? Please let me know. Thanks everyone. 33 days & counting :flower1:

It's been taken over by new management, namely Iago from Aladdin, that loud-mouthed sarcastic bird. I think it's funny. Although I liked the old one, too. Definitely not for teens! Little ones like it, and since I never grew up, I like it too. :earboy2:

We always do the Tiki Room. There is rarely a line, though you may have to wait a few minutes for a show to start. It is a nice place to cool off in the afternoons. While I personally liked the original show best, Under New Management is pretty cute.

Is it animatronics or live birds or a movie? What characters are in yet? Does it have a message ( like circle of life which is closed when we will be there). Thanks for the fast replies. You disers are great. :flower1:

First realize that some may not like it because it's not a moving, or exciting attraction. However, many like my wife and I (25 years old) like to go to Disney and do everything and just for the fun of it. We just like to relax and do it all.

The Tiki room is great for us!

When you enter you sit in the long rowed seating which circles the room. The windows are set to where you feel like you are llooking out into Hawaii or something. Even rain startss to fall outside (real water). The ceiling is where most of the show takes place, hundreds of audio animatronic birds sing and move and talk and they do a show. It's very cool. there's even some stuff that happens in the middle of the room but I wont spoil it.

It's very very cute, and funny and the music is loud and great! It's very tropical music! You'll know some of the songs. It's sort of a concert that you feel you are in the middle of. KIDS LOVE IT!

The message is more about being friends. Everyone being friends and being nice to each other.

I forget the bird's name but the parrot from Aladin is one of the stars among about 200 other birds.

Animotronics. Worth going if you want a place to sit and be entertained. There are animotronic birds all over the room and you sit there and they entertain you.

No message; just animatronic birds of all types, and they are singing--not bird song, but people songs! "In the Tiki-Tiki-Tiki -Tiki-Tiki Room..." some very neat special effects to make it look like a thunder storm outside. It is a cute show.

I like the attraction. It's great during a sudden rainstorm (like we found ourselves in) and when you just need a rest. I find it very entertaining and I like it better than the old show. (I'm not a thrill ride lover, though). I am sometimes the only one who gets up at the end, when one of the birds sings, "get up, get on your feet", so make sure you listen, because that's your cue to exit.

Nobody mentioned Zazu - the other new manager. Iago stands out because he can be so obnoxious.

BTW - we enjoy this attraction too!

My boys, 2 and 4, both love this show as do I (36 and subtracting where I can) and hubby. Its a great place to take a break or to kill time waiting on your fastpass time for the jungle cruise. Because Aladin has now come out on video, they know Iago and enjoy the show even more (of course they have known Zazu since birth :earboy2: as the Lion King is a hit at my house).

If you have never done it before, give it a shot. There are of course the birds and a simulated storm and the ways have tiki gods in them that "come to life" during the show. If you have small children and loud noises bother them, I might wait until they are a bit older, but mine have always been ok with it.

OK, I confess this is one of my favorites. I liked the old version a bit better but still like the new one. My kids love it. It is a bit loud and sometimes the thunderstorm part makes them a bit scared but they clap and dance along.

You have to be ready to have the song in your head for a long long time. "Where the birds sing words and the flowers grove in the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki,Tiki room."

In my mind it is classic Disney. Not fast or thrilling or even one that you would write home about but one that is part of the Disney experience. One that everybody you ask can remember going to as a kid but wouldn't talk about as being their favorite ride.

We wouldnt miss it!! We saw it on accident almost 10 years ago, and when we went back with dd, 8, we had to search it out, and we loved it... it is sarcastic humor, cute animatronics, and the song can get stuck in your head, but you LOL at the Disney memory!! I had to buy a CD that included the Tiki Room Song!!

Its laid back, its a/c, and its just fun!! (by the magic carpet, across from the Treehouse)

Im another fan of the Tiki Birds. Iago has 1 line that no matter how many times I see it, still cracks me up.

Mickeymom, have you ever noticed the looks you get when you are the only one to stand up? Isnt it funny?

MY ds 10 cant wait to go on it - it's noisy, slightly obnoxious and silly - perfect for little boys. Definitely give it a chance.
