Last year, at the aquarium in Baltimore Habor they had the Polar Express 4D ride which I believe is the same version at Sea World so I can understand what you're saying about the point of view constantly shifting from first person to third person back to first person. My kids did not enjoy it as much especially when the whiff of air or the poke in the back happened during the simulation.

I totally agree about Wild Arctic. I love simulator rides but that one was just brutal.

Oh man, I've always wanted to try the Polar Express ride since that is one of my favorite Christmas movies. I feel like I wouldn't enjoy it based on your description, though.

Well, the theming is fantastic. Unfortunately it's the same simulator as the Wild Arctic Helicopter and we've already covered that torture chamber. But you may still enjoy it, especially if you really like the movie.

I did not expect what they did inside though. Santa, massive Christmas Tree, it was truly magical in there.

Not a bad day at all. I was disappointed in the Polar Express for sure. Knowing it used the Wild Arctic simulator, I had a feeling it would be rough. I do imagine many like it though. The theming was done REALLY well. Oh my lord that woman. I really hope she found her group.

Sorry the Polar Express was such a bust.... I love the book and movie so you would think that the ride would have been awesome too.... About 4 hours from me in the mountains, they do a "real" train that is supposed to be like the Polar Express and you get to see Santa at the end but it is close to $200.00 to do it. YIKES!!!!

Oh my girls loved the movie of Polar Express!!! Hailey really wants to go to seaworld but theres no way Riley would ever stand for it,so I will live through ur pics on that I guess and I'll be sure to show them to Hailey too!

That movie is quite popular so I do see the appeal of the attraction. If they can make the thing less headache inducing they'd have a winner. Yeah, don't tell Riley I went to SeaWorld. She'll disown me.

Haha, you know Glenn, it took me a second to catch that. Initially I was thinking, yes, please do, I'd love to read it (if I haven't already). I love when TR's cross over like this.

I enjoy that show immensely. If you've never seen it (which you may have since you mostly visit in the summer), but the Sea Lion's Tonight show is off the charts hysterical.

I even went in with low expectations Phil, lol. Haha, the alternating POV was bad, but I could probably live with that if it just wasn't so darn rough. Seriously, it's painful.

It may well be the same, or at least very similar. It just kind of takes you out of the simulation and it's very jolting. As is the ride mechanism.

Yeah, it was not pleasant at all. Normally the jerking around doesn't bother me, but this was just on another level of pain, lol.

OMG it was great. I've seen the mime so much that, while it always makes me laugh, I've seen most of the gags. This was entirely new, so thank you random lost woman.

Hey, when you need a nap, you need a nap. I'd be lying if I said I'd never caught a catnap at Disney. Sometimes, 15 minutes of rest can let you last til the end of the night.

OMG Brenda I do too!!!! My favourite animal hands down. It doesn't matter what angle you see them, they always look like their looking right at you and smiling.

Oh he is, trust me. I enjoy the show a lot, but I could see myself showing up just to watch the mime and then leaving. He's that entertaining. Haha, right now I'd settle for a moving polar bear.

Honestly, nothing surprises me anymore. I would be mortified if that was me or someone in my group. I just can't imagine spending money to be there and then just sleeping. Though I have had a companion fall asleep and snore on the Great Movie Ride. That I found funny.

It physically hurt Alicia. Having done the "helicopter" and hated it, for some reason I thought this would somehow be different. Annnnnnnndddddddd No.

I suppose, but I would probably find somewhere a little less "busy", lol. Honestly, that snoring was all you could hear when you came outside. I have to wonder what the group sitting beside him was thinking. It was unique that's for sure.

He's a classic. I think even for people that have never been, many have heard of the SeaWorld mime. In fact, I almost dressed as him for MNSSHP once.

It was disappointing, but thankfully I didn't have to wait long with the Quick Queue. It would have been much worse if I waited for it.

Haha, there is a lot to it and it is a really pretty park too. Plus a day is usually enough to cover most of it, so you don't have to give up too much Disney.

A SPECTACULAR CHRISTMAS WITH MY DISNEY MISTRESS
Day 6 – December 8, 2013 Part 4



I moved on from the Sea Lions to the next show on the list,

It was about 25 minutes to showtime by the time I got there after the Clyde and Seamore Show, and the queue line was PACKED.

I overheard that the vast majority of these people would not be getting in to this show as the theatre was already either full or pretty close.
So basically, most in this line were waiting for the NEXT show.
Clearly this was a popular show.

I initially entered the line, but then thankfully asked an employee if I was in the right place and showed her my lanyard.
She quickly pulled me right out of the line like a VIP and ushered me into the theatre where a reserved section, again dead center, was waiting.
This ticket was pure gold.

I had my pick of any seat in the section, which incidentally was roped off and guarded.
I still found it odd that there was nothing outside to indicate a reserved seating line, so I am so glad I asked when I did.

The section itself wasn't even close to full, and there was lots of open space, so I was pretty darn comfy (despite the metal bleachers),
While the rest of the theatre was jam packed with many more still waiting outside.

They even brought out some entertainment before the show began.

Then... My head exploded.

Just before starting the show, the ushers removed the ropes and the stampede began,
As hundreds of people vacated their seats on the sides and came flooding into the reserved section.

My once comfortable area was now jammed, and I was mad.
I know this will sound awful, and I do understand that the section was far from full, but I also did pay extra to be in this section.
It was simply a case of having a way too large section reserved for too few people.

I wasn't angry at the people for taking advantage of the empty seats in the middle... I was mad at SeaWorld for allowing it.
They could have simply had a smaller section reserved and then this would not have been an issue at all.
I do realize I probably wouldn't have even gotten in had it not been for the reserved seating, but in that moment I was hot.

Also, the show began late, so I was concerned about how my next show experience was going to be.
But... After the show began, all that anger was swept away, as this show was simply beautiful with some astounding performers and singers.

The basic premise of the show is the telling of the Nativity, but from the perspective of the animals, mostly featured in puppet form.
It is a religious story, which isn’t common among theme parks, but the humour, storytelling, and unbelievable gospel vocalists,
Combined to make this a truly memorable and highly enjoyable show.

Towards the end they even brought in live animals.

When I originally heard about this show, I didn’t think I’d like it and if not for the Reserved Seating, I can’t imagine I would have included this on my list.

That would have been a mistake of Biblical proportions (see what I did there) as I absolutely loved it.

There are two things I can undeniably tell you about myself…
Someone singing badly is my funniest thing in the world…
And someone singing beautifully will make me cry and is my favorite thing in the world.
This show features the latter.

Unfortunately, there had been some technical difficulties during the show which caused a delay, and when coupled with the late start,
Left me little time to get to the next show on the list.

Day 6 – December 8, 2013 Part 4 Continued


Because of the technical difficulties, I made a beeline over to Shamu Stadium for my next show.

I was racing so quick that I only took one photo on the trek, but it was pretty… and crowded.

After some weaving and dodging, I finally arrived outside the stadium.

My big concern was that there would be a repeat of what happened at the last show, and the reserved section would now be filled up.
Thankfully when I arrived, the reserved section was still a reserved section, and was once again in the middle.
I was once again really thrilled with this pass.

The show had already started by the time I arrived (but only just), so I moved all the way to the top since I didn't want to walk over anybody,
Plus, I liked the idea of having nobody behind me which allowed me to stand if I wanted to.

The layout of the show is really no different than the regular daytime show, so there is nothing earth shattering about seeing it.
But here is something extra special and beautiful about the show at night, and the seasonal music really adds a new spirit to the show.

I can totally understand your aggravation about the seat situation. It's like, why did I pay this extra money for something all these people are getting for free? But I'm sure getting a good seat at both shows helped! Both shows look so beautiful! The Nativity one reminds me of something my church does.

That Nativity show looks really nice and a little different and with the Shamu show seeing anything at night that you normally only see during the day is always a plus!

Sounds like having the VIP pass was a great idea and almost a must have if you are only going for one day.

Oh Jacquie it was spectacular. I knew probably the least about that show, so perhaps that helped my enjoyment, but it was beautiful. They could seriously sing.

Even more than that though was I picked my spot based solely on my view-ability, and since I wasn't anticipating the stampede, I probably would have picked a different spot. I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh yes, it was especially useful at the Shamu show since I was forced to arrive late. The Nativity show was off the charts spectacular.

It was definitely not a show you'd expect in a theme park. But I'll tell you Phill, it was awesome. I for sure enjoyed the Shamu show. The Christmas theme was great, and the show at night really takes on another level I think.

If you want to see everything, it is absolutely crucial. I would have for sure missed at least one, if not 2 (or at the very least had horrible seats).

Thanks Phil I really appreciate that. It was really frustrating in that moment. I appreciated that they had plenty of reserved seating, but when the roped went down it was chaos for a little bit.

Oh my it was truly wonderful. It wasn't heavy handed at all, there was some terrific humour, and OH MY LORD the singing was off the charts. I loved it!

It was very annoying in the moment. I still had 2 shows remaining and I knew I would be late for one, so I was really concerned the seating would be open when I arrived. Thankfully that wasn't the case, so the VIP was totally worth it.

I would have been annoyed with the stampede too. SeaWorld should be able to organize that better to avoid that for sure!

It is totally a pet peeve of mine when people walk over me when a show has started, so thank you (even though I wasn't there) for not doing that! Plus, it was worth it for those great shots.
