"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Look at how on the ball I am - actually commenting to same day that you posted!! ;)

Funny, I have the same pic on the people mover from my solo trip in June, but with my own feet of course ;)

I would've been crushed if that had happened to me with Wishes as well. I know how hard that can be, especially on your birthday! I admire your ability to still try and stay positive about the day, and at least you got to end it with Stacey!

AWWWWW nooooo.. Missing wishes on your birthday!!!??? I'm sad for you but I am glad you were going to have more chances to view.

I am the same way about missing the MSEP. I get all panicky and frantic when I even think, we will miss it. YIKES!!!!!!!

Glad your girl was back on t.v. for you- I'm sure your mood brightened up a bit!

Awww, Rob, I'm so sorry about the Wishes debacle :sad2: I know how disappointing something like that can be and I totally get it. So glad that that disappointment didn't affect the rest of your trip. And... How could a little Stacey TV not brighten things up? ;)

Meanwhile, OMG on your Modern Family pics... Sooo cool you were there during that! And also, I know what you mean about Saving Mr. Banks, so much to think about in that movie! :goodvibes

Great update! So sorry your dawdled and missed the beginning of Wishes O'clock, but you need get a great leg shot so at least us readers were somewhat entertained. :rolleyes1

I have found that whenever I want a great spot for Wishes it doesn't happen, but on other occasions I just luck into a great spot.

Anyway, I am certain the Stacy montage on the end of the night somewhat made up for your disappointment! :thumbsup2

Sorry for the Wishes let down. But remember a little Wishes is better than no Wishes at all. Alicia and I will put youtube on the tv and watch wishes on that when we are really missing it bad.... not the same I know but its what we got.

Hi Alex, I'm so very happy to welcome you. Please thank Alicia (I'll assume this info came from her) for the referral. So glad it's lived up to the hype so far, lol.

My God that cheesecake. Just a sad sad state of affairs there. Please do write a letter. Perhaps we can get a petition together.

Your assumption is correct.
I think maybe I should make a thread on the Dis and we can get a petition started it is a sad thing that they would take away our cheesecake.

I had the same issue watching the Disneyland episode of Modern Family (which I saw the taping of incidentally).

29.jpg

Is that you holding the boom mike for the taping?

:lmao:

That is really cool that you were there. Another friend of mine was there that day, too.

But, back to your Birthday:

Great pictures of the Little Mermaid ride. Being the only female member of a male-centric household, I have been very Ariel deprived at Disney. I saw VotLM once at HS (solo) and that's it!

Bummer about all of the people being in YOUR spot for Wishes!!! :headache:

I'm glad at least you had Stacey to keep you company at the end of the day. I'm sure that offered some consolation.

The Ariel trifecta- NICE!!

I'm so sorry about Wishes :( I know it means a lot to you and was certainly dissapointing. But good not letting it dictate the rest of the trip!

The return of Stacey!! I'm sure that cheered you up a bit :)

another riveting update!

Your writing is excellent at drawing the reader in and allowing them to experience your emotions at the time.... (English teacher moment)

Oh my goodness, THANK YOU.

I am so delighted and honored to have the endorsement of a genuine English teacher. I just have to work on past, present, and future tenses, lol. Seriosuly, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Aw, I am sorry about the Wishes blooper there. I'm glad you didn't let it spoil your birthday glow of happiness!

Looking forward to reading the rest. We are heading down to WDW in two weeks, can't wait (the weather here is AWFUL!).

TP

Big huge blooper for sure Teresa, but no way was I letting it get me down. It was still an amazing day.

Ahhh I'm so jealous, but have a blast. The weather here has been awful as well.

YOU SAW THE MODERN FAMILY TAPING?!?!

I'm surprised you haven't 'borrowed' that "Preparing for Wishes" sign ;)

Omg look at that empty Fantasyland ft. Castle with dream lights on it :lovestruc

ERROR ERROR
There was NO way to get through said walls of people? -_- But it's like what if you were trying to leave? (and then go to the train station to watch Wishes)

I sure did, or at least some of it. I saw the whole cast too. It was so cool!!!

Haha, don't think I didn't consider it since I'm always preparing for Wishes. Hmmm perhaps a T-Shirt should be made.

Oh Meg, I loved it. The area was closed in preparation, so it made a GREAT photo op.

Well, truth be told, it may have been possible, but I'm just not pushy enough. I wish I was though. People leaving were directed to the sidewalks, and not being a pushy person, I couldn't find a good spot to sneak onto the street. I'll have to work on that.

Great update Rob!

Sorry for the Wishes let down....I am sure you will catch an awesome viewing during your visit.

Highlight!!! Stacey was back.

We always plan a day that we are lined up in plenty of time and watch Wishes, but on our other day(s) in MK we watch from where ever we are in the park.

Glad you got to spend your birthday in the parks. What an awesome way to celebrate!

Aww thanks Joleen.

Thank you. And yes, I will absolutely.

Totally. Not a bad consolation at all.

I should have been doing that and I really have no excuse as I do know better. It was just one of those, OMG I'm in Magic Kigdom on my birthday, and I just lost focus.

The day was wonderful and I really have nothing to complain about.

Rob I'm so sorry you missed getting a good vantage point for Wishes on your birthday but I'm glad the rest of the trip made up for it! Main street gets so crazy on non party nights, its unreal.

Nice pictures of the Little Mermaid ride, I agree its a cute little ride!

Thanks Jess, it was a bummer at the time for sure. BUT... the rest of the trip made up for it MANY times over. It does and I know better so I have no excuses.

Thank you and it is just so cute.

I feel like maybe they're performing "Live and Let Die"... Love the idea that they're in a Sir Paul concert anyway though. :thumbsup2

Sorry about the Wishes bummer. If we ever run into each other at WDW I'll give you some tips for squeezing through people walls. I would have gotten you in there!

Stacey was back???? Well, that's not a bad way to end the day at all is it? So glad to hear it.

Haha, maybe so. I knew you'd like that Shannon from your pre-trip experience.

Totally a bummer, BUT because of what's still to come, I have no right to complain. Hopefully that will happen some day. I could use the help, lol.

She was!!!!!! A little Disney consolation.

Oh yes I remember what Magic Kingdom was like on non-Christmas party nights. I can just imagine it! I'm sorry you didn't get your birthday wish but it's nice to hear the rest of the trip was so great.

I just love that you took so many photos of Stacey :rotfl:

Ugh, it was awful Lia. The sad thing is I know better. It's a little embarrassing that I didn't better prepare. But YES, the rest of the trip more than made up for this in immeasurable ways.

Bahaha, I was scared she would go away again, so I wasn't taking any chances. I ended up going to sleep much later than I planned just watching the loop over and over.

I could feel your despair while I was reading! :( But hey, at least you spent your birthday in disney and ended it with Stacey! Dreams come true hahaha :lmao:

Aww thank you. It was rough and I'm glad that came across. But that's it exactly. I spent my birthday in Disney, ended with Stacey, and had so many more great moments yet to come. No complaining here. And btw,I think this is your first post on this TR so I'm delighted to welcome you back.

I'm so sorry about Wishes. We had a similar thing happen with the light parade on our last trip --- I was so, so sad that we missed 75% of it. :guilty:

Thanks Julie. At the time it felt awful, but with the rest of the trip I have nothing to complain about.

Bummer about Wishes, man. So sorry to hear that. :( I hope the trip recovers....at least Stacey was back on. :thumbsup2

Thanks bud. Believe me, the trip MORE than recovers. It became my favorite ever. And YES, I'll take a little Stacey consolation any day.

Great updates! Love the shots from around the parks, so awesome!

I do enjoy the LM ride, even if people think it's "not enough" i think it's awesome, and hey, we still get that mine coaster coming up!!

Here I am seeing those modern family photos and being all "I WAS THERE TOOOOOO" and then I'm all "oh yeah….we already covered that" :rotfl2: I never actually saw them out filming though!

BOOURNS to a crappy wishes experience on night 1, at least it was night 1, and you still had more chances to see them if you wanted! We didn't really get a good spot for wishes our night either, those darn crowds are just too much! Bring me back to Sept!!

YAY STACY!! See! She knew how to make you feel better!! True love!! å

Aww thanks Katt!!

Exactly!!!!. The Mine Coaster I think will be great and LM is great for what it is... a dark ride.

Bahaha, yeah we did. I didn't actually see a lot, but I'm glad I got to see the whole cast even though I couldn't get pictures.

Yup, at the time I was devastated. But I think it was more because I had it built up in my head to be critical for my birthday. The crowds on non party nights are insane. Just bad planning on my part. But I mean it when I say it was an easy trade for all that's still to come. And (spoiler)... I did seee it later before an unbelievable EMH night.

Hehe, absolutely. She couldn't have picked a better time to come back and let me know it was going to be alright.

Great update! :)

Thank you so much!!

Finally caught up...

I have this problem with Star Tours, I've been on it about a dozen times and have been to the Wookie planet every time, I've seen multiple openings and endings but am starting to think the Wookie planet is the only middle scene.

I love the people mover, nothing better for sore tired feet than a nice relaxing ride with a great view.

I hate that feeling when you realize you aren't going to get a good spot. I recently saw World of Color at DCA for the first time and even with a FP I ended up behind a tall couple, I spent the whole show bobbing back and forth trying to see around their heads, very disappointing.

At least you kept a positive attitude and got some Stacy TV to finish your B-day. I spent my b-day week in WDW also and totally agree that it's the best possible way to celebrate.

And I am super delighted to hear that.

Haha, I LOVE the wookie planet. My least favourite is the Pod race. Guess what one I get most of the time...

The peoplemover is a seriously underappreciated ride except for those of us on the DIS it seems. So relaxing.

Oh it was a truly awful feeling. I have never had that happen to me ever. Of all days to make that error.
I really lucked out with WoC. I made sure to snatch a spot at the top of some stairs to ensure I had a good view. I miss that show.

Thank you!! I just had to remind myself of the day I had and look forward to much more to come (which turned out way above expectations). There's just nothing like a birthday spent in Disney.

Aw Rob, sorry your birthday Wishes experience didn't work out exactly as you planned but super glad the rest of your trip more than made up for it.

And glad that Stacy was back so your birthday had a happy ending .... wait, that didn't come out right

Thanks Phil, it did suck. But Oh My YES. What's still to come meant WAY more to me. WAY MORE.

OK, total spit take there. :rotfl2: Yes, Stacey did return to comfort me. ;)

I wanna be the next Stacy. lol

That is a goal I can truly get behind.

Look at how on the ball I am - actually commenting to same day that you posted!! ;)

Funny, I have the same pic on the people mover from my solo trip in June, but with my own feet of course ;)

Holy Cow Becky, you're right!! Hopefully it helped having it posted in the morning, lol.

It is a necessary photo I think to symbolize the relaxing nature that is the Peoplemover.

Oh I was. Truly distraught. BUT... I had to look at everything and I quickly realized that it would be incredibly shallow of me to focus on that one error when I had such a great day... and Stacey back certainly didn't hurt.

Thanks Marcie. It certainly hurt in that moment, but thankfully I regrouped quickly to realize I still a whole trip in front of me. And believe me, I wouldn't trade that for anything.

I really did get panicky too. Like, MOVE PEOPLE!!!!!!

Oh It definitely did end my day right!

:goodvibes

Thanks Tracy, debacle is the exact right word. Totally my own fault. But I promise it had no impact on the rest of the trip which more than made up for it. Way more. Haha, and I had some Stacey comfort, so all's well that ends well.

:thumbsup2

Thanks so much!! The whole Wishes incident was totally my own fault. No one to blame but me. Hehe, yes, at least I got that.

This is the very first time I've ever missed getting to Main Street for Wishes. Of course it would happen on my birthday, lol.

Indeed it did. It was just what I needed to get back on track.

Sorry for the Wishes let down. But remember a little Wishes is better than no Wishes at all. Alicia and I will put youtube on the tv and watch wishes on that when we are really missing it bad.... not the same I know but its what we got.

Your assumption is correct.
I think maybe I should make a thread on the Dis and we can get a petition started it is a sad thing that they would take away our cheesecake.

Thanks Alex. That is very very true, and I do haul out videos to get me through between visits.

Honestly, that isn't a bad idea at all. I still can't believe they cheaped out like that.

Haha, geez you know it could be Dee...

It was definitely a pleasant bonus. I had no idea beforehand at all but it was pretty cool. I just wanted to see Al Bundy!!!

Thanks. Well, I consider myself male-centric which to me is all the more reason to visit the mermaid in all her various forms.

Seriously, how rude are they???

Oh it did for sure, and really set the tone for all the wonderfulness to come.

The Ariel trifecta- NICE!!

I'm so sorry about Wishes :( I know it means a lot to you and was certainly dissapointing. But good not letting it dictate the rest of the trip!

The return of Stacey!! I'm sure that cheered you up a bit :)

Ahhhh thank you Alexis.

Aww thanks. It killed me in the moment, but I quickly realized that there was so much time still to come. No point in dwelling. And I'm glad I didn't, because things just went up from here.

Ohhhh yeahhhhhhh. :)

Oh no....that's so sad. I hate that you couldn't get a good spot for Wishes. At least you have EE and DHS and nighttime MK to remember the day by. I know, not the same as Wishes.....
The fireworks crowds were crazy that night! Insane! That was the first time I'd seen tape on the ground telling folks where they could and couldn't stand. I also think the crowds had to do with everyone getting FPs for the shows. That took up a lot of space around the hub.

Yay, Stacey was returned to you!

Aw! :worried: I'm so sorry your Wishes experience didn't go as planned. I'm happy to hear that the rest of the trip made up for it, or at least made it not so bad though!

Aww thank you. It was rough and I'm glad that came across. But that's it exactly. I spent my birthday in Disney, ended with Stacey, and had so many more great moments yet to come. No complaining here. And btw,I think this is your first post on this TR so I'm delighted to welcome you back.

Hahaha thanks for the welcome! I read your other TR and came out of "lurkdom" once or twice and must have forgotten to say I was subscribing to this one! hopefully I'll speak up more often because these reports are awesome!

Yeah, when I saw Saving Mr. Banks, I just wanted to pause the scene where she goes to the hotel room and all the stuffed toys are there, so I could just look at everything...

So sorry that you weren't able to see Wishes from the center of Main Street :( those crowds really sneak up on you sometimes! Hopefully you'll get a better vantage point later in the trip.

But the good news is, your gal Stacey is here to cheer you up!!!

Hi Rob

Figured that I would follow along on your adventure since you have been so kind as to do the same with mine! Now just give me a bit to get caught up on yours...lol
~Jenn :)

Mermaid trifecta for the win!
I love the peoplemover. I get the leg shot every time too. It's a necessity! But it's too bad that your go on the peoplemover made you miss Wishes :( I hate how congested Magic Kingdom gets at Wishes O'clock. It's impossible to get around! I had to get to the bathroom once. Took me 45 minutes! I hope you get back and see Wishes another time and I am betting you do. Glad you had Stacey back at least!

Yay, Stacey was returned to you!

It was so heartbreaking at the time Alicia. I couldn't get ANY spot at that point. At least not without pushing my way right in front of people. And I hate when they do that to me, so I just couldn't do it. But I had a wonderful day so no whining.
It was crazy. I so know better too, but I just took my eye off the ball. That actually brings up a good point about FP+ and why I despise the 1 park per day rule. Even if I still only had 3 total, I could have used one for Wishes and avoided all this.

But I at least had my consolation prize... Not too shabby.

Aw! :worried: I'm so sorry your Wishes experience didn't go as planned. I'm happy to hear that the rest of the trip made up for it, or at least made it not so bad though!

Thanks Dani, it was rough at the time. Oh believe me, the rest of the trip MORE than made up for it many times over.

Thanks, that's sweet

You're welcome. Stacey is a goal everyone should aspire to. After all, everyone aims to be perfect, right?

Hahaha thanks for the welcome! I read your other TR and came out of "lurkdom" once or twice and must have forgotten to say I was subscribing to this one! hopefully I'll speak up more often because these reports are awesome!

Ha yes, I knew you were there on the last one as I like to keep track so I don't forget to welcome anyone, lol. I appreciate each and every comment so much, you have no idea. And MY GOODNESS THANK YOU SO MUCH for this one!!!!
