Employee discount plus a package?

We have friends who plan to go to Disney World in October. They "know a guy who knows a guy" who I guess works there or something and can somehow get them discounted park tickets. I may be wrong that he is an employee but I'm pretty sure that's what they said. And I have no idea what the discount is.

But anyway, when we did our Disney trip, we used a Disney travel agent and she helped us just book the package thing where we had hotel, dining, and park tickets.

My question is, can you get park tickets from say, this employee or whatever, and still book hotel and dining through Disney, or with a Disney travel agent?

You can book a room only reservation and get tickets wherever you want.

If you want the dining plank you must book a package that includes room, minimum ticket purchase, and dining.
