Emma (Hermione Granger) is sporting a new look.

This also means the last of the Harry Potter scenes of movie 7, part 2, have finally finished.

"She’s not Hermione anymore. Emma Watson — the 20-year-old actress who has portrayed Harry Potter’s studious BFF, Hermione Granger, in six films over the past decade — has shorn off her character’s long tresses in favor of a short pixie haircut. “Oh my God, it was the most liberating thing!” she tells EW.com. “The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it.” The chic, gamine cut, created by New York stylist Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon and seen in this exclusive Polaroid from EW’s upcoming Fall Movie Preview issue, might not seem like a huge deal to most 20-year-olds. But Watson has had to sport essentially the same hairstyle for ten years while she played Hermione. “I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through,” she says. “I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.’” Watson, who’s about to enter her sophomore year at Brown University, finished shooting the final two Potter movies this summer — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be released Nov. 19, 2010, and Part 2 next summer, on July 15."

"Images of Harry Potter star Emma Watson’s new pixie haircut hit the web Thursday — see an exclusive image from EW’s upcoming Fall Movie Preview photo shoot here — and millions of fans seemed to have strong opinions. Most loved it, but a few didn’t. Why all the fuss? The actress, 20, had been required to keep essentially the same long, blonde hairstyle for ten years while she played Harry Potter’s bookish pal, Hermione Granger, in the $5.4 billion-grossing Potter franchise. But Watson, who’s about to enter her second year at Brown University, finished shooting the final two films earlier this summer. (Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1, will be released this Nov. 19. Part 2 will be released next summer, on July 15).

When filming ended, Watson’s hair was finally her own. She could have cut her hair immediately, but she decided to wait a bit. “It didn’t feel right then; I needed a break,” she tells EW.com exclusively. During the cut, designed by New York stylist Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon, Watson never had a moment of panic or remorse. “It was weird. My hairdresser was like, ‘When are you going to freak out?’ Most people cry or go into shock,’” she says. “But I was very calm. I knew it was the right thing.” It helped, she said, that she didn’t tell anyone she was getting the drastic ‘do. “I went to the salon alone and I left alone,” she says. “I knew everyone was going to have an opinion, and I couldn’t deal with it. I have to get myself into a good place to deal with people saying things like, ‘It’s terrible! She looks like a boy!’” Says the actress, laughing, “My dad already said that to me, actually. He said, ‘You’re not Audrey Hepburn yet, darling.’”

Ouch. Thanks, Dad? “He’s like that. I think the best I’ve ever had out of him was before a premiere when he said I ‘scrub up alright.’ When people ask me how I keep myself grounded, there’s the answer.” So what do you think, PopWatchers? Do you approve of Emma’s new look? And are you excited for Deathly Hallows?"

I think it looks really cute on her. If I could wear my hair that short, I would.

Aww, so sweet!

My job coach has actually seen her around Providence--so cool! I've yet to see her, though.

WOW! She looks gorgeous. If I could pull it off, I would get my hair cut like that too. For now, I just get my daughters hair cut that way LOL

She've very beautiful. I liked it long, but she's young and wanted something different. She reminds me of Twiggy. (Okay, I admit it. I'm old!)

Adorable, not too many people can pull off that short of a haircut. :thumbsup2

I don't like it at all. The second picture looks kind of like Brad Paisley and her ears stick out.

She's beautiful no matter what length her hair happens to be. Just beautiful. She has such an interesting face.

OMG, Why did she do this:confused:
Yes, she now looks like a boy, not flattering in second picture at all....
IMHO those really short haircuts look best on very very few people...and despite how cute she is, it does her no justice....as long as she likes it though....

She's adorable, but I think that haircut looks terrible on her. Then again, I have yet to see a woman on earth who can pull off super short hair.

I don't like it either. I agree that she's a really pretty girl, but I think it's just a little too short. If it were just a little longer, I think it would look better.
