EMM/DAH/MNSSHP?

My head is spinning with all of the options!! We’ve never done any of these events in previous trips and I’m wondering which would be the best option for us. Now that we have a 2 year old, it’s smart to optimize our time in the parks and cut down on time standing in lines in the heat (going in August).

I’ve already booked a dessert party for MK one night. We cant afford to do all of the events so I’m trying to see which other one would be the best bang for our buck...

I am leaning towards EMM at HS. We haven’t been since TSL opened and it looks super fun. But I’m also curious about the DAH at the various parks. Just wondering if anyone can tell me their favorite event so
I can decide which one to book next :)

With a 2yr old(and the general assumption that your child goes to sleep before 9pm on most nights), I would strongly lean towards EMM at either HS or MK.

I recently did DAH on a solo trip and it was awesome for the low wait times but personally I would not have brought my family because with two kids under 5 that go to bed before 8pm, it wouldn’t have been worth my money or the epic meltdowns. I know some people say their kids can last til midnight/1pm, but I wouldnt attempt it and I saw a lot of tired families that night.

MNSSHP is awesome if you want the seasonal offerings or unique characters but it can be very crowded so don’t go expecting low crowds or low wait times. It also has the nighttime factor where I personally don’t think it’s “worth” the cost for young families.

Also great choice on the dessert party, especially since you are there during Halloween party season. You’ll enjoy not having to stake out a spot with a toddler and they can run around the garden if they want.

You’re right, our 2 yr old is usually asleep by 7 and even though she can be fine staying up late I think the EMM is our best bet. Now to decide whether to do HS or MK?? I don’t think she can do SDD but what about TSM? I was leaning towards doing HS bc the TSL looks like so much fun and I think she would enjoy the atmosphere. But is there more that she can enjoy at MK?

If you are doing this more for the 'enjoyment' of the 2 year old and not for the adults, MK EMM would be the better option in my opinion.

MK EMM
vs DHS EMM
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Toy Story Mania!
  • Buzz
  • Woody and Jessie

To me, a 2 year old on TSM is not that fun depending on how stable they are. The ride whips around the turns so it's better if they can hold themselves up well. Keeping glasses on at that age was a challenge for us. Even now, my 4 year old isn't all that good at pulling the gun string.

At 2, DD rode PP at MK EMM over and over and was happy as a clam.

I’m so glad you said that because I was really leaning towards HS. We also have a 16 and 9 year old but I think there’s something for each of them at both parks. My little one would love PP. She couldn’t do 7DMT but the other two could.
My other question is about breakfast...does anyone know what is offered at MK EMM? I wasn’t crazy about the menu at HS. Wondering if MK is better?

With a 2 year old I would definitely pick the EMM for MK. The 16 and 9 year old will have a blast doing 7 dwarves mine train.

Thank you. That sounds much more appetizing than the menu at HS. We are not adventurous eaters. :)

In addition to the great argument the PPs make for EMM, I don't think Disney has released any additional DAH dates after April, meaning it might not happen during your visit and/or would be hard to plan for.

I think they are putting a pause on DAH...and during the summer the park hours are usually extended anyway. We would be totally exhausted and my 2 year old wouldn't last for DAH so I took that out of our options. We are booking both EMM at HS and MK :)
