EMM arrival

what time do we have to be at the gate in order to be up front of line. i hear EMM guests and ADR guests use same tapstile.

You will go to the far left side of the entrance to MK where someone will check you in and give you your wrist band, the. You will tap in at the turnstile. They won't let you through the tunnel until exactly 7:45. We have done it twice and checked in around 7:15 both times - you won't be fighting a crowd. We could have gotten there later and still been fine. There are only 200 people who do EMM each day. When you walk down Main Street go to the left side sidewalk area walking past the entrances to Adventure Land/Liberty Square and hold up your wrist band so the CMs can see it. You will head into Fantasyland via the path to the left of the castle. The ADR crowd won't affect you at all. You will literally walk on every ride, every time you ride them. Fantasyland will feel empty. It's really fun! Have a great time!

The CM I booked with suggested we "check in" at 7:30am. We are leaving Poly at 7am.

Since you say you’d like to be at the front of the line I would suggest getting there right at 7:00. These things can vary from day to day, but when we arrived at 7:15 there was already a good amount of people there.

FWIW, we were running a little late that day, maybe 5 minutes after EMM opened (I know, the horror! Lol)
And we still rode everything (7DMT ELEVEN TIMES), PP, the Carousel, and then made our way over to BTMRR to be in the first group (maybe 10th in line) and we got to ride that TWICE before the RD crowd arrived.
We went to breakfast at around 9:30 ish, maybe a tiny bit later. But all the food was fresh and good, and the CMs were great!

I am so glad to hear your experience - we are going to EMM in 13 days and we want to do basically what you did - ride PP once, 7DMT as much as possible, then get in 2 BTMRR rides before zipping back for EMM breakfast.

We're doing EMM on Sunday and hope to get to the turnstiles at 7:15 or 7:30. We are staying off property. Is it better to drive to the parking lot and try to get the monorail or uber to the Cosmopolitan (I think I read where that's an option)?

Uber to Contemporary Resort will be faster and easier.
