He is a total jacka**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And i find no talent at all in the music of his that i have heard and it all sounds the same AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!
He is a thug who is producing crap but laughing all the way to the bank!!!
And from the previews of his movie, it also looks awful and its a disgrace that the producer compares it to something of the quality of A Beautiful Mind which glazer has done!!!
Their is hope with the lifestyle he choses to live that he will suffer the fate of numerous other rappers!!!!

OMG:mad:

I am almost sick reading this. Am I wrong? Or did you just insinuate that having him shot to death would be a good thing? No matter what different opinions some people have I have never here on this board read that another person wished someone would be shot to death!!!! That is sick. I hope you are joking, or that I just misread your statement. If you meant what you said then I surely hope that you have no chance at procreating!!!

Disney845, you obviously have not been properly introduced to BobO yet. :teeth:

He has rather strong opinions, but I think he may really be a big softie at heart. :) Something tells me his bark is worse than his bite. :)

I agree with this part of what Bob O said,

Sorry if you think I am overreacting here, but I do not think that "hoping" for some one to be murdered is a funny matter. These rapers I assume he is speaking of (Notorious BIG, Tupac, and now sadly DJ Jam Master Jay (who by the way never advocated violence in any of his works)) died violent horrible deaths. If you think that is a laughable matter than maybe you should get in your minivan and drive down to the ghettos some day and witness first hand what a gangland shooting looks like!

You can put as many smiley faces as you want after a comment like that but it doesn't change what you have said. "Big softie at heart" people do not make comments like that. I think that even if SERIOUSLY provoked I would have a hard time making a comment like that toward anyone.

Something tells me his bark is worse than his bite.

Keeping with this dog analogy -

I wonder what his bark would be like after he was neutered? A falsetto perhaps?

Oh can't forget these :) :) :) :) to negate whatever awful things I have just said and make them acceptable DIS comments!

He isn't a Beach Boy. I don't know him. ;)

As for BobO. It is funny (you know strange, funny) that we treat him just like a relative and say, "Oh, that's just BobO. You know how he is. Can't change him..." You know relatives like that, right? BobO and I agree about 50% of the time. But I like him. :)

I guess I'm a closet Eminem fan - I wouldn't buy his CD's, but I do listen to his songs when they come on the radio.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating what Bob said. Bob and I rarely agree on things, we seem to be on the opposite side of the political spectrum, for one thing.

However, having "known" him for a while, and knowing that he is also a police officer, I'm of the opinion that he really doesn't wish harm or violence on Eminem, or anyone else for that matter. At least that is what I choose to believe. Bob may want to tell you differently.

Bob O,
Glad to see you have softened your views on life :smooth:

At first I didn't like his music much, but after having to listen to it with my DS and DD, I find it quite interesting. My DW likes him also.

We are going to go see his movie when it opens. (DW and I)

Since alot of the movie was shot in Detroit, I will be interested in how it shows on the big sreen.

Ditto!!!!

Disney845, where are you seeing a lot of :) :) :) :) ?

When people live the lifestyle of a" thug" or a "gangsta", alot of people will meet the fate that that lifetsyle brings with it, not storybook disney endings. From all i have read of him he is a thug who has disrespected those close to him and has been violent towards the mother of his child and he exhibits no redeeming qualities.
Do i advocate his death, no!!!!! But will i be surprised to read the paper or hear the news that he died a violent death no!! Will i be upset about it no!! When kids like him play with guns or want to protray the gangster lifestlye they should realize that with that decision comes certain consequences.
Others before him played that game and suffered for it and the old saying what goes around comesaround.

I feel so much better now know that people like BobO are out there defending the rights of the American citizens!

Disney845, where are you seeing a lot of :) :) :) :)

I was just using an example there wvjules. I was commenting on how people think they can post just about anything on discussion boards so long as they follow it with a smiley face, as though it wipes out all the negative things that were just said. I understand that it is hard to tell what mindset people are in when they type behind the guise of a computer screen, but joking or not, saying that you hope someone dies a painful nasty death is sad.

Do i advocate his death, no!!!!!

Then maybe you should think about going back and editing

Their is hope...that he will suffer
out of your post! Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about you or anything! :) :) :)

As someone who has quite a few friends and famly who are police officers, BobO is some one I respect. I don't always agree with him( well most times I do) but his perspective on the real world is almost always right on.

I would have no problem getting in BobO's mini van and tatking a tour of the ghetto

Disney845, i see gang shootings on almost a daily basis!!!!! And i see first hand the negative influnces of rap music and how kids see the videos and try to emulate what they see on tv and hear on the cd's, it affects how they treat other people, family member's/girlfriends. A well rounded person may listen to his music and take it for what it is while others will try to live the lifestlye they see on tv/movies where it is glamorized!! And will i edit what i said, NO!!!!!!!!! I dont use back buttons and say what i believe!!!

Than how can you hope that same fate should befall someone else?

I have no problem with you having a different opinion about his music, or the message that it may or may not deliver to other people. But start talking about "hoping someone meets the same fate as other murdered rappers" and I think you have lost all respectability in the arguement!

As for ghetto's I have worked in areas that may be consisderd ghetto's for 20 yrs and have seen the rise in gangland shootings and have had to make death notifications to parents when there children have been shot or killed and it isnt a pretty thing to do.And these kids listen to the music/videos of people like the subject this post is about and idoilize what they see and then try to act in oiut and have little concern for their life or the lives of others. I have also arrested kids and you warn them about the dangers of gang life but few listen and every so often you get to the scene of your call/shooting and see the person you warned having chalk marks go around his body and you realize how much these anti-social behaviors affect impressionable kids/teenagers and adults.
Thats why im strongly against so called artists who write/sing songs of violence and do video's of the same because i see first hand the affect it can have!! We have seen some of the affects of the noted rappers as examples but rarely see how it affect those less famous who when they die get a few headlines in a newspaper.

Who knew...in Wisconsin...I thought everyone there was just makin' and eatin' cheese! ;)

C'mon Bob, even you have to admit that your statement "there is hope..." was a little over the top, even for you. Maybe "there isn't much doubt..." would have been a bit better.

People like Eminem and Ice T (the "playa") are exactly what kids are trying to emulate. Music is one thing, but their attitude totally SUCKS, and I wouldn't want my kids looking up to someone like that. I know it's not their responsibility to be a role model (like Britney shouldn't be for little girls), but for them to glamorize the "playa" lifestyle just irks me no end.

BobO - just curious, what type of music do you listen to in your mini van? Also what type of music did you listen to while growing up?

Thanks

If he is going to go on his course and dish up more of the same that he has in the past then he is only a negative for society!!
Now if he would change course and realize what he is doing is not right then i would change my views of him. If he would stop advocating violence and talk down the "gangstsa" lifestyle that he shows on his video's he could become a productive member of society, as it is now all he does is spew anti-social messages which is listened to by alot of young people with pout the maturity to just listen to the music with out acting it out!
