Another question about going in late September. Should you go to parks with emh or avoid them? Also thinking about MNSSHP what is the best night to go? I was thinking about Sunday night....has anybody gone to a Sunday party and was it busy?

We're going the 12 through the 20 of September. We're doing MNSshp on the last Friday we leave late Saturday...

I am not doing emhs I used easy wdw to figure out what parks what days etc. It was really helpful! You should read the reasons why that park that day etc. I think he's against emhs honestly...

With EMH it depends. If your family is willing and able to get up and be ready to go at the turnstiles at least 15 minutes prior to morning EMH then it could be worth it, especially at MK (even more so if the EMH is prior to 8am). I've also run into good luck with the later EMH at MK (where the park is open past midnight). However, EMH at DHS is always a nightmare only because there are so few rides to choose from. EMH at Epcot is hit or miss. A few times I went and there was no one there, while other times Soarin and TT were slammed. Animal Kingdom EMH is a wash. The crowds/lines are no different than a regular opening time.

In the end, it boils down to your family's touring style. I wouldn't force a late night person to get up early or vice versa only because there is no guarantee that you will get an empty park. Also, if you have a park hopper it is usually helpful to leave whatever park has EMH by noon and head to another park as the parks with morning EMH tend to get slammed as the day goes on. In reverse, parks with late EMH hours tend to be slower in the morning hours.

With MNSSHP, weeknights are always the better bets. Shorter lines for characters and less fighting for seating for the parades/fireworks. That is until the week of Halloween when all bets are off, but you should be good in Sept.

I think our plan when we go is to follow the guides for low attendance parks and then finish off our night at the park with EMH and use that time to do the non ride related things we may have missed when rushing around from one ride to the next

You've gotten some valid points from the PPs. I think a lot depends on crowd levels and whether or not you have park hoppers. Sept. crowd levels are usually pretty good.

But it can make sense to avoid EMH parks if you don't have hoppers. We rarely have them, so we prefer to follow the recommended parks on easywdw.com. That way we know we'll be able to avoid the worst of the crowds. If we do have hoppers we'll either go to morning EMH and then bail to a recommended park by late morning, or go to the recommended park for most of the day and enter the evening EMH park just before the extra hours begin.

As for party nights, we pick a week night to go.

I've never been in the parks in Sept but I have been there Aug and Oct and they were both hot months. I would take advantage of a cooler night time EMH. I've also done MNSSHP but not on a weekend. I think Sunday would be great, unless you're going during a holiday weekend, because kids go back to school the next day and locals won't attend. I've heard Fridays and Saturdays are crowded.

There are several reasons we get park hoppers, but one of the main reasons we get hoppers is to take advantage of Evening Magic Hours at MK. There is no better time to enjoy MK. It truly is magical at night. Last year, one night we arrived as the parade was ending and were able to do just about everything in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland (with the help of FP+).

The last hour of the night, everything in Fantasyland except Peter Pan is walk-on and even Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain are walk-ons in the last half-hour.

We don't really do Magic Hours at any other park. AK does not have evening ones. Hollywood Studios are a disaster, and while Epcot's can be useful, they do bring in a crowd (adults) that is more likely to stay out later than the families with small children at MK.

All depends on when you go and how busy the parks are normally. My touring plan for Feb is different than Easter Week. One thing I like to do is EMH evening hours. The longer the regular park hours are the better EMH Evenings are. People can't do rope drop EMH Morning and closing EMH Evening. At least not those with children, at least not very easily. I find the crowds are lower during these special times. The only problem is not all attractions are open during EMH Evenings. I have never experienced EMH Mornings. It only gives you one hour and if you avoid that park in the favor of another you will find regular rope drop will give you a great opportunity to ride a lot before the crowd catches up.

The morning EMHs are the best. You go to those, then you hop to at different park around 10 or 11 AM, before the big crowds arrive. Disney is all about timing. I would only do extra magic hours if I have park hoppers to get out of the way during the non magic times
