EMH Worth it?

We have always avoided the parks that have the Extra Magic Hour during our vacations in late August. This year we thought we would give it a try, but I am hesitant, as I just read a post that stated that it EMH is not worth it. If we just went for a few hours, and left the EMH park by noon, would it be worth it, or will it be total gridlock by 10:00? The parks open at Nine during our vacation. Just wondering if anybody can offer some advice before we make our final plans?
:D :D :D

We just went 5/22-5/30 and thought for once we would try EMH. We tried early on in the trip ad decided MK...we got up at 6 (not good) got to the park by 8:30. The park was pretty busy. We walked on Peter Pan and into Philharmagic. That was about it. It was pretty crowded from then on out. We vowed from then after to avoid at all costs. We like nighttime at the parks.

I think a lot depends on the ages of your group. If you have young ones who: a) will be up at 6 a.m. no matter what, b) MUST ride Dumbo at least once (or twice, or three times :D ), and c) will be in bed by 8 p.m., the EMH is wonderful, especially at MK. If your party is comprised of tween/teenagers and above, and all can stay up until the parks close, then EMH may not be your best bet. As we tend to visit during the hotter months, we prefer to get up/be at the parks at opening to avoid the major heat later in the day. Some preach EMH and some preach going to the non-EMH park; to me, as long as we are there when whatever park opens so we can be ahead of major crowd peaks, we are doing good!
