EMH: Worth it or Not?

We are going to utilize Evening Magic Hours next June....
Here are some of our thoughts:

1) We know from experience and from WDW fan sites that EMHs can sometimes, if not most of the time, be crowded.
2) We view them as extended hours and not times for us to have to park to ourselves.
3) We expect waits of 30-60 minutes for top attractions.
4) We simply feel like it gives us more flexibility when planning.
5) We like a little down time in the afternoon and the Evening Magic Hours allow us a few days where that will be possible.
6) Animal Kingdom is known as a park that is very warm. Having a night where we can go will help us stay a bit cooler. Plus, we've never seen the park at night.

Just some things that went into our thinking about using EMHs.

I agree I like the afternoon downtime and the extension of time to be in the parks. I thought I should share with you though that last year when I had put evening hours aside to see AK that the Safari ride closed with the regular time closing and that the areas to view animals also would not permit us there. I was so disappointed. What is the use of EMH if you cannot see the animals or go on the rides in the park? Don't miss seeing it by setting only EMH time aside for it....

I avoid EMH parks, AM and PM. EMH's are crowd attractants, I prefer less crowded to over crowded. And with fewer crowds in a non-EMH park, I am well able to get my park fill for the day without having to get there atan even eralier hour or staying till late at night.

There are no LIGHTS in the animal viewing areas or on the Safari.

But the "rides" ARE open.

After all, DAK is Natazu (not a zoo.)

These were my thoughts too because I will be happy to just walk around a bit later in the parks and go on a few rides and hopefully some of the shops in the main street areas. It is nice to go back to the hotel and let my dd swim and be able to go back and stay a bit later in the evening. We will be there 9 days so we will be sure not to save anything for EMH and will just use it as an added time bonus to enjoy being in our fav place WDW!!! Everyone does things a little different to suit their own lifestyles though so its all good. :thanks:
