EMH - Which makes the park busier?

I appreciate both morning and evening EMHs probably make the park busier than on non-EMH days, however in your experience, is there any particular one (morning or evening) that makes a park busier than the other?

Or is it maybe the case that morning EMHs make that park busier only in the morning, and vice versa with evening EMHs?

Anything else worth considering when visiting parks on EMH days when your an off-site visitor?

Cheers :)

When staying off-site, we have just always gone with the theory that parks with EMH are best avoided. I think those who are utilising EMH often don't have park hopper tickets and will stay in the same park all day, thereby increasing attendance for that park.

We have always avoided the parks with EMH and usually had no problems.

One good tip that we have used and has seemed to work well is to visit a park the day after it had EMH in the evening. Generally, the crowd levels are less - not sure if there is any evidence of this but, again, it's worked well for us :thumbsup2

I've been visiting WDW since 1992 and, as an offsite visitor, my strategy has always been to avoid EMH (or EE as they used to be called) days at all costs. That strategy has served me very well. I've read reports here of people who have visited at exactly the same time as me who have reported heavy crowds when I've experienced the opposite, and on the few occasions when I've been forced to be in a park on its EMH day, I've been proved right. Most recently we visited Epcot during an evening EMH last October and it was mobbed. All the other times we visited Epcot during the evening on that trip were blissfully quiet. Even as an onsite guest, it would take a lot to convince me that I shouldn't avoid EMHs. We are making an exception this August to visit AK during an evening EMH, simply because it will be a rare treat to be at AK during the evening.

EE was always just that - Early Entry (i.e. mornings). Since the advent of EMH (mornings and evenings), I think the evenings have been more popular. I guess that's not really surprising but people are unlikely to be able to burn the candle at both ends, so the mornings are potentially not as busy as they once were. Conventional wisdom has always been to take advantage of the EMH mornings (if you're inclined to do so) and then move to another park once the EMH park starts to become crowded (late morning).

To answer your question directly - the morning EMH parks will be busy all day, the evening ones from lunchtime onwards.

Yes totally agree with Deb's on this as if you happen to be in a park, with EMH eveningsand on site why not just linger that little bit later and enjoy an extra ride or two?

Claire ;)

EMH in the morning is ok if you are staying onsite as you can get quite a lot done in that first hour. However in the evening the park will be packed, we went to Epcot last year for an eve EMH and everything had over an hour wait.

May well be worth looking into Tour Guide Mike (a sponsor of the main US forum) as he has a lot of useful info on park visiting strategies. I'm using him for the first time for my next trip and even though I think I am experienced his ideas and the logic behind them are impressive!

Thanks everyone :)

I think im going to make some changes (again). I had planned our first day on Friday 15/6 to be at MGM but since it has EMH in the morning, and the Star Wars weekends are on at that time, im beginning to think this isn't a good idea.

Providing I can change the relevant ADRs, I think I may re-work my itinerary to take account of the busy-day guide recommendations (which I hadn't really bothered considering before).
