EMH Question

Hi everyone,

Say, just have a quick question. We're leaving in less than 2 weeks - woohoo! We are staying in the same off-site vacation home that we stayed in last year, so we are not staying on Disney property. Last year, we hit the Magic Kingdom on an Extra Magic Hour (EMH) day, and nobody ever asked us to show a wristband to get on the rides. We actually didn't even know why the park was open so late, because we read what time the park was open until, but noticed that they kept keeping the park open.

Anyway, so my question is - have you ever experienced this? I'm wondering if they maybe just let everyone stay and ride because it was fairly quiet that evening? Would like to be able to do the EMH this trip as well, but not sure if they are more strict on checking the wristbands now?

They don't "remove" non-resort guests from the park at the start of EMH, but don't count on getting to ride any attractions without a wrist-band.

Tonight we went to the evening one at MGM and they really didn't check my hotel card but on the rides they were checking for wrist bands.

During EMH at MK in September CM's seemed very focused to keep an eye out for wrist bands... MK was packed that evening and I noticed CM's glancing at everyone's wrists as they entered rides.

They don't make you leave the park, but you do need a wristband for the rides and CMs do check for them and we have seen them turning people away. If you were able to get on rides before without the wristband, you were lucky. I wouldn't count on this always being the case.
