EMH PM at HS Osborne Lights

Do you need to be staying onsite to see the lights with PM EMH? Can anyone take advantage of those 2 extra hours, or do they scan magic bands somewhere?

Magic bands are scanned at the entrance to the park like normal. If you are not staying onsite and try to enter during EMH, you will be denied entry.

Anyone already inside DHS at "closing time" can stay and see the O-Lights during PM EMH.
Same goes for any Fantasmic! show that runs during PM EMH.

We were there a couple weeks ago and in HS during the day when there was EMH in the evening. We went to the first Fantasmic show, used our TSMM fast pass, and then walked over to Osborne Lights. I think by the time we actually got there, EMH must have started. We were able to see the lights with no problems, taking our time.

I think it's a shame they don't have a way to enforce this. We're planning to see the o lights during evening emh and it would be nicer if it was less crowded.

I agree, we're going with EMH so my 3YO can do the Disney Jr Dance Party. Of course I want smaller crowds. Oh well. There's always magic to share.

It's not something they intended or planned to enforce.

There USED to be a show that was "PM EMH-only" a few years ago.
The Festival of the Lion King that was performed during PM EMH at DAK was for WDW Resort guests only.
They checked resort IDs on the way into the theater.

Since then, they have dropped PM EMH at DAK, so the point is moot, there.

But, at DHS, they have always allowed all guests to go to the PM EMH performances of Fantasmic! and
allowed all guests inside DHS to see the Osborne Lights during PM EMH.

Yep, it's not about enforcement. We even asked and pointed out we didn't have magic bands because we didn't want to walk all the way back there and then be told we couldn't see the lights. The cast members said it was no problem and it was just the rides that were reserved for on-site guests.

I know that the lights usually stay on an hour after the park closes. For emh, are they promptly shut off or do they still run an hour after park close?

Promptly off at the end of EMH.

I'd just change your DHS day to a non-EMH day. No point is facing the worst crowds of the week when you aren't even planning on utilizing the EMH to ride anything. If you go the hour after park close on a normal night it will be about as empty as you can find it in the last 30 minutes.

It's the Disney jr Dance Party that's only offered on EMH nights. My 3YO will love, love, love that. I have great memories of my now 13YO at the same party 7 years ago. Time to make the same memories with the baby child, plus she's a night owl and I hope this wears her out.
