I am going to dw sept thirty to oct 7 (my number three button won't work so had to spell it out). MK is only opened 2 nights late EMH with fireworks. Other nights it closes early around 7 (probally d/t mmnshp- which we are not attending). Do you think it will be more crowded on the EMH where it is opened late with fireworks? should we avoid the extra magic hours? We do not have park hoppers.

Also, what park is more fun for a 2 and 4 yr old. Animal Kingdom or Epcot?

thanks in advance for all of your help. We are new to this and want to have a great vacation. :Pinkbounc

I would venture to say that Animal Kingdom would be better. They are too small (the 2yo for sure and likely the 4) for the better rides at Epcot so they will quickly run out of things to do.

AK also has dinoland which has more kid friendly activities.

Personally, we prefer Epcot, but that is just what works for us, plus our daughter will be 8 this trip. We are only going to AK to get 3 rides on Expedition Everest and then head to Epcot for the rest of the day.

Check out the EMH Early beginnings for the younger kids. That might work better for you than the later ones.

We like to sleep in so we do the later ones.

My suggestion is that with your little ones you might want to avoid the evening EMH days. They'll probably get tired early and not be able to take advantage of the less-crowded later hours, and the park will probably be pretty busy during the day. If you can manage an early morning EMH, that would be much better. On Halloween Party days, the park can get busy late afternoon, as the party-goers start arriving and the regular daytime visitors haven't yet left.

There is lots to do in Epcot for young kids, especially in Innoventions. We went last fall with a 4 year old and a 1 year old, and the 4 year old loved making a robot toy (great free souvenir!), making paper and stamping it (another great free souvenir), putting out the fire in the fire house, etc., etc. Other big hits - Living Seas, Ellen's Energy Adventure, Imagination, etc. We didn't do much of World Showcase - just mexico, norway, Canada and the UK (where we ate dinner before heading out).

However, the kids did prefer Animal Kingdom - they are both animal lovers and could have spent many hours just watching the animals in the Oasis and on the trails. Lots to see and do at Planet Watch too. Then there's the Boneyard - they loved climbing and exploring. Also the shows were great - Pocahontas with her animal friends, and the Lion King show - kids really enjoyed both.

I did EMH at MK recently and it was a madhouse. It should be noted that this was Labor Day Weekend, however. But, we did EMH after watching Wishes and after getting ran over with a stroller because I couldn't move through the crowd fast enough for this woman to plow through (it was wall to wall humans - I couldn't go anywhere), I was called a *it*h by this pathetic woman because I had the nerve to tell her to watch my foot.

The park itself was disgusting. People were throwing coke bottles and trash everywhere. The lines were long. Blah.

EMH at MGM were a breeze. Nice, uncrowded and generally lovely. I could have done without the constant Disney dance tunes though.

We realy like the EMH. We always get to do alot and find that after first hour in the evening the crowds get very low. We were just there in Aug and we walked on Buzz 4 times and SM we did twice with no wait.

We've had our best luck with morning EMH in the MK. Things are relatively deserted. If that's not an option, I'd go for the AK EMH with your kids -- there's lots there to keep younger ones busy, and the theming is so amazing that you'll be entertained as well.

Have fun!
