I have heard that it isn't good to hit the parks for this time. Is this true?

I have jeard the morning time is a better option though. Am I getting fed a line of... bull?

Hmmm....I can't wait for these posts...I was told just the opposite by someone that just came back.

We've found the morning EMH generally less crowded than the evening. That said:

By mid-morning the EMH park is usually more crowded than it would be on a non-EMH day.

DD went to an 12-3am EMH at MK that was very lightly attended on a night after an evening of very intense thunderstorms.

Hope this helps!

Many of us go to Morning EMH (and sometimes HOP).
Some of us like the evening EMH at certain parks.
Some of us avoid EMH parks.

Because NOBODY can tell you what WILL happen with ATTENDANCE on any given date, any more than they can predict the WEATHER (which WILL affect the attendance much more than EMH.)

EMH is FREE.
I go.
If I need to, I can always go elsewhere.

Got back from the World last night. It was our observation that the EMH parks were more crowded whether the EMH was AM or PM. I think many are saving money by not getting the park hopping option and are looking to maximize their time in each park, therefore choosing to go to an EMH park each day. This trip we stayed away from doing any of the EMHs except for the water parks. Sometimes our plans landed us in the EMH parks for a portion of the day. We felt we did better getting to a park right at opening on a non EMH day.

That being said, if we do our trip next year in June, we'll probably try the night EMHs to see how they go. We would have really enjoyed sleeping in a bit more during this past trip!

I am going December 8th-13th and was looking to do Epcot the first day we get there which is EMH (evening) and see Illuminations and Candlelight Processional :sunny: that evening. The other nights we already have other things planned. We were going to spend the whole day there. Do you think it will be manageable seeing that it is a slower time in general or should I try to reconfigure my itinerary? Thanks!

We avoided evening EMHs last time we were there. I really don't have a guess on how an evening EMH effects morning park attendance in that park. :confused3 I think we will wind up trying an evening EMH this time around bcs

1) we will have done MNSSHP the night before, and will probably sleep in the next day
2) it is at Epcot, which I am figuring will be OK as compared to a similar strategy at MK
3) we are not buying hoppers this time, and are among those seeking to maximize our possible time in the parks

The other thing to factor in is the time of year you are going. I would avoid the EMH parks during the peak seasons (if my schedule allowed it.) If you are going during a quiet time of year, such as September, it would probably not be as crowded.

We always try to take advantage of the morning EMH. In our experience, the parks are not that crowed. We have a plan of attack as to what attractions we want to see. When we were there in May, we did the morning EMH at all the parks. It worked out great for us. At the MK, we did all of Fantasyland by 9:30 and was ready to head off to Toontown. At Epcot, we had one member of our party run over to Test track to get fast passes and the rest of us went to Soarin. There was only a 10 minute wait. At the AK, we were in the mob of people that headed for EE. Instead of getting in line right away, we got our fast passes for EE, then got in line. We rode EE, then headed over to do the safari. We rode EE later in the afternoon. We used the same plan of attack at MGM esp since the ToT and RR are so close together.

We did two EMH. We did MGM first and we did not go to the park until 10pm. It was not as crowded as we had expected. However, there was a lot of guests that did not have a wrist band on and they were riding the rides. We also did MK, and it was more crowded. Again, we noticed a lot of guests without wrist bands. For our next trip, we will do the morning EMH, but we are not sure if the evening is worth it.

I really think it depends on what you want to ride. We did the EMH at night at both Epcot and MK. We have a little one, 3, and we found that Fantasyland was wonderful at that time! We walked right on to Dumbo and all of the rides on both nights at MK. We did ride Splash Mountain. We got our armbands early, and headed to Splash right after the parade. We waited about 20 minutes or less...by the time we got off, the line was up to 40 minutes. At Epcot, we rode the rides that are generally less crowded (Spaceship Earth, Imagination, etc.) and again walked right on. We also explored a lot of the pavilions and DD really had time to play with things and explore with very few people around. For our purposes, it worked great! :cheer2:

Oh...I would make sure you get you armband for the night early. We re-entered the park in the evening and got our armbands at that time. We witnessed several people who were staying in resorts and were very upset when CM's turned them away at rides and made them go get an armband. They lost valuable time.
