I have looked through various posts about EMH and wanted to know if anyone can offer some advice about EMH in the morning at the Animal Kingdom? I am not going until late Sept and will be there for 9 days so I know I have quite a while before my trip. I have not done the EMH @AK before so I am not sure if it will be overcrowded or a lot can be accomplished early...

Personally, that's the ONLY way I would even go to AK! I would want to get there early to do the safari first thing and check out a few other things and then leave. I would then still have the rest of the day to check out other parks.

Have fun!

I would like to know the answer to this too, especially since I'm going in july when there are huge crowds. I'm thinking that everyone staying on site will be at AK for the extra hour and when the gates open ..... because of limited choices .... I envision a STAMPEDE all the way back to the safari.... a few may go off to Bugs life but I see most rushing to safari. Now if I go on a non extra hour day ...it will still be crowded but the crowd will have more choices to rush to. Am I thinking this correctly? ....what do you think.....b/c I would LOVE to do the extra hour at AK but not if I'm going to be trampled :teeth: by unbearable crowds as soon as enter.
And is it possible that AK might open at 8 anyway for the summer? That would be great !!

I didn't actually do the EMH morning at AK but we had a PS for 8:00 at Restaurantsaurus and we were in the park at 8:30. We were right near Dinoland and the kids love Triceratops Spin and Primeval Whirl and we went on those three times each with no wait and then went to Dinosaur for a Fastpass. I don't know how the EMH is but it was very empty at AK at 8:30 in the morning so if you are interested in a character breakfast you might want to get a PS and do it that way. We love AK so we stayed all day but we could have gotten a lot accomplished in the a.m. and then left because it was so empty. I let the kids go on the Dinoland rides for the third time while I waited on the bench and I had Chester and Hester all to myslef because no one else was around. They were helping me consult the park map for a good five minutes.

We went to an EMH morning at AK in January and the ONLY thing open was It's Tough to be a Bug and the walking trails. They wouldn't even let you get into Dinoland to stand in line for Dinosaur until 8:45am. It was such a waste of time. There are more rides open in the evening EMH.

Maybe during the busy seasons, they'll have more rides open.

Are you saying you were there on an extra hour day but you were there for breakfast more so than getting rides done OR are you saying it WAS NOT an extra hour day but you made a 8:00 ps for breakfast which got you into the park before actual opening b/c it was my understanding that if you go for an 8:00 breakfast and the park doesn't open until 9:00 that they will not let you into the park (out of the restaurant) until official opening.
Thanks in advance!! :)

We usually do the EMH for AK because there is not much at this park we want to do. We got straight to the safari and either get in line or get a fastpass. Then we get a cinnamon roll at Tusker House's little bakery. Then we go to dinosaur and either get in line or get a fastpass, depending on the line. Then we do Tarzan first show, and we're done.

We went last February and that hour in the morning was great. We headed straight for the Lion King and had wonderful seats for the show. Once we left Lion King we went on the safari and the line was not that terrible. It pays to get there early and wait in line for the Lion King Show.

DEFINATELY go to AK during EMH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

We went in Nov. and did the Safari ride, Pangani Trail, Kali River Rapids, the Asian trail (forgot the name), and FP Dinosaur. We were in time for the first Lion King show, then went to Dinosaur (rode twice), and It's Tough to be a Bug. Did all this in LESS than 3 hours!!

Definately well worth it, b/c we could spend nearly a whole day somewhere else then. If you can do it, DEFINATELY do it!!!!!!!

Have a magical trip! Can't wait to go myself!

   = DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea but you last 2 posters are talking about Feb and NOV. Are they less crowded periods anyway? Unless you mean Presidents Day Week ...I'm going in July

And I didn't realize The Lion King was open during the EMH :confused3 I'll have to recheck that

We did EMH at AK in June last year. Yes it's busy, but less busy than the rest of the day. You get one or two major things done in the hour before everyone else shows up. If you get the safari done in the EMH you miss most of the crowding because that's where everyone automatically rushes to when the park opens too.

We went to am emh, and got these five things done in two hours: safari, kali river, tough to be a bug, primeval whirl, and dinosaur(x2). Out of the park by 10, and to mgm. Definately worth it for us. We are planning a longer trip in october, so this trip was about rides and not parades or shows.
