Now that MVMCP is on sale, I'm trying to map out our park days so I can book MVMCP. With MVMCP on Mondays this year instead of Sundays, what will the EMH look like in December? I guess there's really no reason to change the MK's early Friday and late Wednesday, but just curious what you all think.

I am wondering about this too. The official calendar is expected to be released June 1st, so waiting until then is probably our best bet.

I was wondering this same thing. Also this is our first trip this time of year. Anyone know what the crowd levels are like. I heard this is supposedly the quietest time of year. Is that right?

First two-three of weeks in December is a great time to go. Crowds lower and weather usually not too hot, although can be a little chilly! I just signed up for Tour Guide Mike to help me with the planning when the calendar is released. I know we are all going to have a great time, it's hard not to wish the summer away this year though! (I live in Cleveland, and to say "come on, winter! is not something people usually say in this area! - shh! don't tell anyone!) :santa: :woohoo:

That's what I was hoping to hear. I've been thinking about doing Tour Guide Mike also. When are you going to be there? We'll be there from 12/1 to 12/10. I'm so excited to go. Myself and DD6 are taking my DM on her first vacation since I was 14, and I'm now 32. So we're hoping to show her a great time.

This sounds very much like me a year ago. We took my mom on her first-ever WDW trip at the tender age of 66. She absolutely loved it, as she is very into Christmas. The holiday joy is everywhere you look.... and in typical Disney-fashion, it's over-the-top fantastic!

The crowds are so low that time of year, I think you'll do fine without TGM. I'm sure he offers a great service, but I've just always followed my general rule of avoiding parks on EMH and did so last Dec too. Longest line we saw was 20 minutes for Soarin (WITH Fastpass)!! We went on Splash Mtn during the MK afternoon parade and there was NOBODY waiting to get on-- literally nobody-- they asked if we wanted to stay in and ride again. Heck yeah!

I'm going to proceed with planning as if EMH will not change in Dec. I can always change my MVMCP date (at least you could last year).

For those planning this year's Dec. EMH based on last Dec.'s EMH - personally I don't think it's going to be the same.

Comparing it to this year's OCT. schedule would probably be closer, due to MNSSHP & MVMCP.

Last Oct. the MK PM EMH was Wed., and it was the same in Dec.

This year there are no Sun. parties because Sun. is now MK's PM EMH night.

We are going 12/10 to 12/17 (or so) and then, we are going to head to Universal parks after Disney, then to Ft myers to visit family (coming home maybe the 24th). This is my kids 2nd trip, first trip was in 98 and they don't remember much, they are 15 and 17 now! The Tour Guide Mike people are very nice, and you can join the vacation club specific to your vacation month which I think is nice. I joined because I figure I have spent more in disney guide books than what this costs, and there is a money back guarantee!

Also we rented points from DVC owner for one of their beautiful onsite resorts, Old Key West. Never did that before and thanks to these boards, it was very easy and affordable.

My first trip with the family I was 33, now my third trip, well, I'll be almost 42!

Have a great time making wonderful memories with your family!

I don't think anyone in this thread said they are planning based on last Dec's EMH. I said it'll probably stay the way it is now. And the CM I spoke with today to book MVMCP agreed. Just look at late Nov hours (already posted on Disney)... MVMCP is in full swing that week.

Your first post mentioned MK's PM EMH as Wed. (as it was last year).

I mistook your 2nd post - "I'm going to proceed with planning as if EMH will not change in Dec." to mean that you thought it would stay as Wed.

I'm sorry my post upset you.

My bad! I obviously wasn't thinking straight last night! My 2 statements were contradictory-- probably explains why I confused the heck out of you. What I meant to say was I see no reason why they need to change the MK's EMH from the current Thursday morning and Sunday evening.

And by the way, I also didn't intend for my post to sound like I was upset. I wasn't at all. :)
