FOR those of you who have done AM EMH at HS how much were you able to get done? How were the crowds or would you just recommend skipping EMH all together. When we go 2nd phase of GE will be opening so I am trying to plan on visiting DHS before the opening.

A lot. If they keep opening at 6am and you are onsite, you will likely be able to do just about everything before the park opens.

I was able to do everything I wanted, including Droid Depot, multiple rides in both TSL and on MF, eat breakfast at Woody's and shop all before the park opened at 9am when I was there on the 14th. If you have the opportunity, do it. I got to the park just after 6am when the initial crowds had gone through the gates and headed to SWGE.
TSL was empty and all rides were walk on/5 min wait. I spent more time walking the line for TSM than waiting to get into the vehicle.
Certainly with the heat during the day, it makes sense to get things done early and the extra hours means you can do just about everything before the crowds, head back to the resort to relax (and sleep) and then go out again.
