EMH and park hopping-worth it in this situation?

We will be in Disney in October and I am trying to get our plans together. We want to see Pandora at night. Would it be worth it to stay at AK until they close at 8:00 and then hop over to MK which has EMH until 11:00? Or would should we just skip going to MK for EMH?

Do you plan on hopping any other time? I don't think it's worth it if you only plan to hop one time during your trip, but if you plan on hopping a few other times then I say go for it.

I always think evening EMH are worth it however if you aren't planning to hop for any other part of your trip, I would not pay for a ph ticket for one time use since it's applies to all days of your park tickets. How many days are you getting tickets for?

I would hop over. Why not? Even if it's just to stroll around Main Street (after HEA clears of course) and look in the shops and take in the atmosphere.

Got it. Personally I'd say yes, but that's because Magic Kingdom is my favorite park and it's magical at night. I think it also depends what resort you're staying at? If you're staying at AKL, I'd say definitely not. But if you're staying closer to MK, then go for it!

About how long does it take to get from AK to MK?

It will vary based on how busy it is but count on at least 30-40 min, bus ride is usually about 20 min but if you have to wait which you may, total will be close to 40. If that's too long a wait, you can do a minnie van or uber.

For what its worth, when we travel in November we always end up at MK from 9pm until closing which is usually around 11 or 12. Disclaimer: We don't usually stay for illuminations, DHS fireworks/show, or ROL. If you are going to be staying for the night time entertainment it may not be worth it if the park you are hopping to closes around 9 or 10.

Only you can decide if its worth it for you.
If you leave AK at 8 when it closes, expect a large crowd at the buses. maybe not alot headed to MK, but there could be. Waiting and traveling to MK, best case about 25 minutes, worst 45+ with waiting for 1+ buses.
So if getting to MK after 9 and having 2 hours at the park is worth it to you, then its worth doing. Worst case, you get there, its crowded, ride a ride or two and take the bus back to our resort.

You will get a lot done in the last two hours you will have and the park is extra special late at night. I would do it.
