Ok, I have been reading so many mixed reviews about EMH. With the crowd level being lower in Oct, due you think EMH will be packed? Our first day we were thinking of doing MGM with evening emh. We thought this would be a good choice, since we will not be getting in a full day. We are planning on doing the fantasmic dinner package. Will we be ok, or should we make other plans? I am so confused about what to do! :confused3 Please help me, before I go crazy! I actually stay up at night worrying that I will make the wrong dicision. Ok, so maybe I am already a little crazy! :wave2:

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I have tried to post this question as a new thread on both the TPAS board and restaurant board, but for some reason it won't take it so I hope you won't mind if I post it on this thread. Would you do the Fantasmic Dining Package on an EMH night at MGM, or a non-EMH night? We will be there 09/30-10/08 and definitely want to include this in our itinerary, but am just not sure when to go. Would the EMH night be way too crowded?

princessh - I see we're in the same boat. :wave2: In working on my itinerary, I had originally thought we might do the Fantasmic Dinner Package on Sunday, 10/02. My tentative itinerary has us spending the day at AK and then going to MGM later that afternoon for dinner at H&V and Fantasmic. However, that particular day is an EMH for MGM and I'm concerned about the crowd. Like you, I'm just not sure how to treat the EMHs: do we take advantage of them or avoid them? :confused3 Someone on these boards suggested visiting the EMH parks the day after as those people participating in EMH won't visit the same park 2 days in a row. Kinda makes sense, but there's a part of me that would like to try out the evening EMHs, too? What to do, what to do?!? :crazy2:

For me, the planning is half the fun, but, like you, it can cause some stress, too! :bitelip:

Here's where my research has led me... as long as they keep giving away free dining, as long as Disney keeps up the marketing, commercials, advertisments (has anyone else gotten a clever pop up - I got Dumbo flying across a screen!! it was cute! the family of 4 $1500 deal) ANYWAY...

I keep reading, and calling, and the resorts are "full" that is my signal that it will indeed be crowded, go figure, everyone is JUST LIKE ME! Everyone else had the same idea as me - F&W, mnsshp, and the promise of lower crowds, lower temps... lured me into that "must go to disney" trance... :rotfl2:

Well, I figure I survived the heat and crowds of July, gosh darn it its Disney!! So I've lowered my "expectations" I'll bring more "stuff" to get thru... and maybe hit our Chicagofest to get a grip on "REAL" crowded (compared to lines at F&W!!)

I'm disappointed mostly about the 'early' closings of all parks (compared to July), the fewer staffed(fewer cars) rides/attractions, so they run them at a pace which still provides long lines....

YEAH DISNEY

I think we'll all be wondering what kind of plans we can make and when EMH is until August when the October EMH schedule comes out. There will be a lot of people calling to change their PS's that day!

I would get a PS for CRT every day and cancel all the rest when I knew which day I would be there. If I was going to CRT that is!

I am in the same boat too! I have planned out our stay from 10/22-10/29 and I have decided on doing the Fantasmic Dinner package on Sunday 10/23(which is an EMH evening according to the currect EMH schedule). I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I think I'll stick with this. Since it will be our 1st full day there, I may have more patience with the crowds!! :cool1: If it turns out to be a real mess, I'll adjust the rest of my visits that week to avoid EMH...

With the crowd level being lower in Oct
We've been to WDW the last three Octobers and crowd levels never seem that much lower to me. :confused3 :sad2: Of course, we used to go in early December when crowds really were low. We've also been a couple of times in late May (around Memorial Day) and that's what I compare October to. Better than summer & holiday times, but not as good as December. That being said, I've always avoided EMH - with the exception of morning EMH at MK, but we'd leave by lunch when we did go to those. As much as I would love to be at MK until the wee hours of the morning (I'm a nightowl ;) ), I don't think I'll even try the evening EMH at MK or anywhere else. I'm an impatient person and I don't like lines. I'll be following the suggestions from touringplans.com - I'll go to the park that had evening EMH the night before. I'm afraid with free dining, F & W festival, and MNSSHP that the crowds will be even greater than the last three years. :earseek: Good luck, and have fun! :flower:

YES, with possibly one exception, AK. Our experience this past May, which I would think that crowd levels would be comparable, was this. Evening EMH's at MGM, Epcot, & MK were packed. (For example, at MK, before the EMH hours, wait times at most of the rides was 10 to 15 minutes. After EMH started wait times tripled for most of everything. We gave up and left after an hour and it was obvious as we left, that more people were arriving than were leaving. We experienced the similiar situation at MGM.) Evening EMH at AK was not, walked onto everything there. Morning EMH's were not packed at the parks we were there to try, (Epcot and MK). IMHO avoid evening EMH's at all the parks except for AK.
Nevertheless, have a great time. :cool1:

eeyore45 you have me worried now. Everything is full?

I booked our package back in May (before free dining). I was hoping for low crowd levels, but I guess with the marketing hype everyone is making plans to go.

I am there 9/18 - 9/25 I have tentative schedule put together but it looks like I may have to do some adjusting and plan on not using EMH. Luckily, I have park hopper tickets
