We are staying at DLH and are planning on going to the EMH or early morning hours for resort guests.

Is there a back entrance like international gateway to get into the parks or do we just take the monorail and show our resort keys at the gate?

With magic mornings the best way is to go to the MM gate at the front entrance. You may be able to take the monorail to tomorrow land but it always seems to be behind the MM opening. No special way to get in.

Jack

Thanks Jack, we will walk down to the entrance. Is the MM entrance different from the regular gates? Sorry, I am an WDW veteran but at a loss for a trip to DL.

It usually more towards the DTD end away from the main turnstiles. There is tons of help here. Hope you read Hydroguy's sticky above.

Have a great time, early is always better.

Jack, I found the sticky and the links, now note taking time. Thanks for the link.

BTW, I like your avatar.

Thanks, that was a work picture when I was in Afghanistan a few years back.

Good luck with your trip..trying to do this from my iPhone and what a pain.

On MM Mornings most of the DL turnstiles will be open 30 minutes before MM starts. As the MM hour progresses the turnstile on the far left is kept open and labeled "Magic Morning" while the other turnstiles are closed waiting for non-MM guests to line up and enter. FYI if you walk from the DL hotel (better option for MM than monorail as Jack said) you will enter the DL plaza from the left.

HTH. :)

BTW I like Jack's picture too. I would not want to meet him in a dark alley though. ;)

Thanks for the help. What is the difference between Toontown madness and MM? Do they happen on the same day or different days? I read the link but could not grasp the times. Is there security to go through first? I am sorry but I seem to be very nervous about going to DL, yet I can just walk into WDW.

I could tell there was something very different about Jack's picture and wanted to know more. I will have to PM him. You are right, I would only be in the alley if he were with me. Wow!

Here is the best link for Magic Morning and also touches on TTMM:

"Magic Morning (Early Entry) Super Thread" by DLR29 www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403

Is MM the same as Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness?
No, Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness (MTTMM) is ONLY for people who buy packages from AAA, Costco, Disney, etc. MTTMM is entry into Mickey's Toontown one hour before it opens. Since Mickey's Toontown usually opens one hour after official park opening, MTTMM often begins at official park opening. Different to MM days, MTTMM is offered on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, making Saturday the only day in which both MM and MTTMM is offered.
No security for TTMM. You are already in the park. :)

I finally figured out why this trip is so different and making me nervous. I am going because DH has a conference at the DLH where we are staying. The conference offers tickets though a special Disney site.

I don't know very much about what is offered with the tickets and us staying at DLH?:confused3 I guess I just need to call the number and ask the questions.

I will be without DH all day so maybe I need a body guard:laughing:

I have worked as a security escort(off and on private contractor) for many years and I am currently available for that body guard position. Seriously you will have a great time and I would call that number.
Trey: I would have to agree.

Call the number.....but then come back here for more detailed information. :)

Start off by reading HydroGuy's Tip Thread for WDW vets:

Then read the rest of his threads:

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

Is there security to go through first?

Before you can go to the DL turnstiles, you will need to go through Security.

On Magic Morning days, the Security tents usually open 30 minutes before MM starts.

On non-MM days, the Security tents usually open 30 minutes before DL's regular opening time.

Here's a link to a wikimap:

http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.8091389&lon=-117.9199827&z=19&l=0&m=a&v=2

Guests on the DTD-side of the entrance area go through "West Security Guest Bag Check."

HTH :earsboy:

I don't think I could afford to pay you to just hang out with me. But wow!

I did call the conference number and found out we can go to MM but not the toontown party. The person was very nice and was also SN so he answered more questions about seating and the GAC. We do get conference price tickets but I believe if it were not for the conference we could do better with the 3/2 deal. But the hotel price is super and paid for by the company.

If you are in the park, do stop and say Hi. I am going back to my sewing board to send them all over here to look at your avatar.

I did not say this quite right. On MM mornings security (usually) opens 30 minutes before MM starts and folks can line up at the turnstiles. The turnstiles themselves will open when MM starts.

Those without MM can line up anytime before that but cannot enter until non-MM guests are allowed in.

And, as I said, as the MM progresses the turnstiles will be closed down and a special turnstile will be setup for late arriving MM folks (I have always seen it on the left - maybe that changes - don't know). The other turnstiles will be closed but gathering lines for the non-MM folks waiting for regular park opening.

In any case Minnie it looks like you can do MM and that is a no-brainer at DL. At WDW there is a school of thought it is better to not use EMH. No such school exists at DL. At DL using MM is always a good idea - if you can get up that early! :)

The CM I spoke to was very helpful and I have a better understanding of what I am doing now and thanks to Hydro, where to go. We can get up early as we gain an hour so it will cake and pie to get up, have breakfast and still be there early.

I do need to get a GAC for DS and wanted to know if there is a guest services outside or is it inside? I was surprised that the CM said to bring a Dr. note with any and all things needed listed:confused3 I have a 15 page report but I will go to get a short version of the DX and what we need to help DS have a good time. He said not to bring our old GAC, just a Dr. note.

To the left of each park is a guest services window. The DCA one is hidden though by a wall. DCA has the shortest wait usually.

Laurie,

Is it inside the park or on the outside like? Sorry, just trying to have a plan.

BTW Jack, I did post in the family section disboutiquers for the girls to come gaa gaa over your avatar.

LOL! I came but I love to nose around over here. It is not a good idea though since tickets were only $218 today when I checked ATL to LAX.

Jessica,

Your airfare is just about equal to mine! Come to DL with me. We can hire Jack to be our bodies guard. He reminds me of Toby Keith. Yes, I do live and listen to CW.

What got me was this easy trip is getting to be very expensive with air, tickets, food, etc. But it is Disney and DS is happy to be going to see a new disney.
