Emeril's and kids????

We will be in Orlando 11/2-11/10 and would like to eat dinner at Emeril's for our 10th Aniversary, our kids 5 & 7 will be with us and we were wondering if many kids eat there and is there a kids menu. Thanks.

Another poster wrote in about this a few months ago. There was no kid's menu, but Emerils did make a personal pizza for the kid in their party.

We went to Emerils for lunch with a toddler in February. Thankfully the toddler slept in his stroller so we could have an enjoyable meal. When I called to make the reservation, the man said Emerils was "very kid-friendly!" They didn't have any problem with the toddler coming. However, I didn't notice many other kids there, and it's quite a fancy place. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. It would be a great place to celebrate your anniversary.

I think your decision should be based not strictly on how kid-friendly the restaurant is, but how restaurant-friendly your kids are. If you have taken them to lots of sit-down restaurants, if they are well-behaved and will stay in their seats, if they are somewhat adventurous eaters, I'd say take them even if there aren't many kids there. We recently took our kids (9 and 7) to an extremely fancy restaurant, and they were the only kids there. They behaved very well, and we had a wonderful time. They are still talking about it.

Are the lunch and dinner prices and or menus the same?
We are thinking of eating at late lunch there our last day
before heading back to the airport for our flight. It will
be me, DH and DD age 4. What should I expect to pay
for lunch? Did you eat at the Latin Quater too, which was
better?

Thanks for the feedback. We are still undecided. My kids are very well behaved most of the time.(Kids will be kids sometimes....) My DD DW and I are lovers of many different kinds off food, my DS just loves hot dogs. Sometimes we'll feed him before we go to a restaurant and just let him get a dessert. We've watched Emeril for a long time. Even stood in line for hours to have him sign a cookbook.

If you're a fan of Emeril's, I say try it. Maybe they have some kind of sausage your son will eat.

We did lunch at Emeril's with our sons (10 & 7) and found the servers to be very good with the kids. There
is no kid's menu per se but they do an individual kid's
pizza (which was delicious, I ate some myself!) and also
fried shrimp--also good. Our kids are not always the best in fancier restaurants but at lunchtime you will not
be the only family with children at Emeril's. The boys do
watch Emeril Live on TV now and again and were well
behaved because they were so thrilled to be in Emeril's
restaurant. My older son wanted his photo taken in front of Emeril's portrait!

Emeril's is a fabulous restaurant which should not be
missed. If you can access child care for a dinner meal
that would be wonderful, but you should not miss the
experience in any event.

Don't know if this matters but Latin Quarter has a buy one entree and get another 1/2 price on their web site, just do a search for it.It would probably cut your cost
abit--maybe buy two large entrees and split them..We ate only at Magaritaville, was not impressed, we had best meal over at Planet Holywood over at DW.Wish we had tried HR instead of margaritaville but the kids picked
it was ok but cheeseburger wasn't anything special, none of his momento's are there, they show movies, etc. but PH had some really neat stuff like Lovebug, plane or part of it from True Lies, the shrimp boat from Forrest Gump(Jenny).This may be drifting but hope it helps...

The prices at lunch are cheaper than dinner. They serve many of the same things at lunch as dinner but the menu at lunch is not as extensive. You can go to www.emerils.com and click on the orlando restaurant and see the lunch and dinner menus. But I remember the online menu was different from the actual menu when I was there.

It's a lot easier to get a lunch reservation at Emerils -- it was booked for dinner several months in advance but we got the lunch reservation the day before. Also I think the lunch meal was faster. When I called about a dinner reservation the man told me to plan to spend about 2 hours or so there. If you have young kids, that's an eternity! The service at lunch was wonderful, and quick.

We ate dinner at the Latin Quarter during the same trip in February. The guide book I had highly recommended the Latin Quarter and I see that many people on the board love it too. Personally I didn't care for it. It seemed just as expensive as Emerils, but I didn't like the food nearly as well. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go back. I was outside for much of the meal with my cranky toddler, so this could have affected my view of the Latin Quarter. But it didn't compare to Emerils at all in my opinion.

Can you use you HRH key to get seated quicker at Emeril's or any of the other restaurants in Citiwalk? Or what about a Universal Fan Club Card?

I don't think you can use your key for Emeril's.

If you want to eat at Emrils, there is almost always seating available at the bar. No need for reservations at all and you order off the same menu.
