I'm supposed to be checking into the BWI this Friday, 6/17. I have 2 rooms shared between 4 family members. I just found out we may need to cancel due to one member being ill. We're hoping she'll recover in time but if not does Disney make any exceptions if you cancel due to a medical issue? I'm not arguing that their 5 day room only cancellation policy isn't fair. I just wondered if there's any flexibility on their part.

Also, is the day you check-in counted when considering the 5 days? If we cancelled today, 6/13, would
that be within the refundable time frame?

Thank you.

I hope your family member gets better soon. Pre-Covid, I was able to postpone my trip without penalty when I developed a serious medical condition and found out 2 days before our flight date that I was not medically cleared to fly.
Good luck :)

Wishing your family member all the best. I would definitely call Disney and provide them with the issue. I'm sure they will work it out with you. Good luck.

Call and explain the situation, Disney is usually willing to work with you even if their posted policy says you can't cancel within X number of days.

If you are seriously considering cancelling today, I would call and see what they can do for you. At the very least, at this point, you can modify your dates with no penalty.
