Emergency Number in France

Can anyone confirm if the number 112 would be the equivalent of calling 999 over here?

I'm currently sorting out my anaphylaxis management travel plan and I am stumped on this last bit of info!! Thanks to you helpful people I have the location of the hospital and its address but I can't seem to find an emergency number so I just wondered if anyone knew what it might be.

If not, I will ask the hotel when I arrive and hope they don't think me an oddball for asking such a question!!

After DW had her purse stolen while we were on holiday in Romania a few years ago I always make sure we carry a full emergency contact list in our phones and on paper. Having the number for the British Embassy in Bucharest came in very handy.
