well, our trip is off to a rough start! We're driving from VA to WDW (arriving tomorrow, staying in SC tonight). I just realized I left my ID at home. My husband is overnighting it to me, but because of him working nights and it being the weekend, we may not get it until Monday. We're staying off-site and have already kind of worked it out with them. My mother is driving and has her ID of course.

Is there anything else I need to worry about? We have magic bands and I don't think we need ID to use them the first time? ADR's? Random purchasers? Are there ATM's on site?

Ugh, seriously, what a terrible start

Assuming you have linked your Magic Bands and tickets on MDE, the only thing you should need ID for is if you a purchasing something where ID might be required (alcohol). There are ATMs at the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs provided by Chase.

Last summer, we drove to WDW. About 1.5 hours out, I realized I forgot my wallet. Luckily, my in-laws, who were dog-sitting, met us half-way back.

I only tell this part of the story, because as a result of it, I took notice of how often I needed my ID on the vacation: not once. Not even at the hotel we stayed along the way - at which I could check in online. At the Disney Resort Hotel security gate at the parking lot, they just took my name and magic band (I had checked in online).

HA! Isn't that the truth. At least my mom was planning on driving the whole trip anyway, or we would be in trouble!

I was going to upgrade to an AP the first day, but I'm thinking I can't do that without ID

You might be able to upgrade since it won't be a FL AP, but you generally need ID to get the discounts that go with an AP. So...

I constantly get carded when I try to purchase alcohol, so that really would be a disaster for me! Good luck!

If you're not a FL resident or DVC member, some CMs might be willing to upgrade you to an AP without your ID. If you're either of those, it's pretty necessary.
