Emerald Reserve Pickup?

I understand that with National's Emerald Reserve I skip the counter and go straight to the lot and pick out a car. When you get to the exit do you just give the attendent your reservation number or something else? Does National send you any paperwork ahead of time? I like the idea of not having to wait at the counter but hope I can still get directions from the lot attendent. Thanks

Yep, you got the pickup totally correct. When you get to the gate you hand them your computer printout (the one that hopefully you have printed when you made the reservation) , your license, credit card, DC card (if applicable) and coupons (if applicable)National does not send you anything. They have maps at the checkout booth, and most of the attendants can tell you where to go.

It is just that easy!!!! You might encounter a bit of a wait leaving the garage, but, it usually is not more than 5 mins. We have yet to have more than 3 cars ahead of us. But, it sure is better than waiting in line at a counter.

There are big signs that you follow that say Disney World this way from the airport. It is really easy to follow. Personally I would go to www.mapquest.com and get directions rather than depending on parking lot attendants. The only thing I would get from them is the free map.

National has direction cards that lists each road to your specific resort area. They worked great for me the first time. We always use the directions they gave us - south exit out of the airport to 417 south, go through 2 toll booths ($1 each), get off at exit 6 which takes you to 536 and right onto disney property. Very simple, little traffic and easier than the north exit to the beeline and I-4. Takes about 25-30 minutes once you leave the garage, depending on your resort.
