Emerald Island compared to Windsor Palms

Last year I booked this July's accommodation early with Elite Homes to get a good price. At that time, they did Windsor Palms only, which was what I wanted, so we booked a 2-bed condo. Now their website's totally changed and they don't do 2-bed condos at WP. I contacted them and they now say that we will be put up at either WP or EI, possibly in a larger property at no extra charge. Sounds OK, but I don't know anthing about EI.

How does EI compare to WP? All we want is good quality accommodation in a quiet, fairly upmarket gated community and a good shared pool for the kids.

Any views? Has anybody used Elite Homes, as I never see them mentioned here?

I only know about Windsor Palms. We have stayed there twice & loved it! It is a very pretty neighborhood. Great location! Easy access to WDW thru the back entrance(Sherbeth Rd) didnt have to fight all the rush hour trafficWe won't stay anywhere else now. Huge pool! Stay there knowing you will love it!

I am booked at a 4 bedroom house at Emerald Island, and through what I looked through, both communities are very similar in 'perks' (close to parks, community pool, high end gated communities). Also, they both have a club house (which both offer shuttles to WDW :)) .

Here's some links for you :

I have used Elite Homes the last two years and have not had any problems with them. :sunny:

We stayed in Emerald Island last week and visited Windsor Palms while we were there. They are both gated communities with clubhouse. Both complexes are close to WDW and they both had nice homes. I didn't really see all that much of a difference between the two. I would both happy in either community.

Hi you will not regret Emerald Island...No two bedrooms so you will get at least a 3/2 and most likely 3/2 1/2

We are staying in Windsor Palms. I will let you know what I think. It looks like a great community and for 59/night you can't beat that right! I can refer you to the house that we are staying in if you want. Just let him know that Jennifer Kidder who stayed in his house from March 6-12 referred you!

They are both real nice, EI shades it for me though because it is larger which gives the impression of more space and it is prettier to look at and just slightly closer to Disney. The Townhome I have stayed in was a 3/2 1/2 Let me know if you want details about it, I paid around $90 per night last time.

Thanks for all the replies. It all sounds quite encouraging then, so I can't go wrong either way.

I just can't wait to get there!

can you post a link to the home you stayed in? i'm looking into windsor palms for a private home

We spent a week at Windsor Palms and a week at Emerald Island in March - loved both places and would happily stay at either again.

In terms of facilities, I would say that Windsor Palms has the edge (basketball courts, ping pong, movie theatre, huge pool and hot tub) although Emerald Island's are very nice too.

The home we stayed in at Emerald Island was larger and newer, but both houses were great and I would recommend either.
