I'm making a butterfly shirt for my son, because he's butterfly crazy.

Pros for embroidery:
The pattern lends itself to embroidery
Embroidery would look nicer

Cons for embroidery:
9 month old makes it slow going to keep her from getting poked
I'm a little rusty

Pros for painting:
Baby safety not an issue
More colorful (I'm not doing satin stitch.)

Cons for painting:
With the fine detail, it would take as long as embroidery
It would be sloppier
Less forgiving

I need help deciding.

I would embroider because I would feel like I would mess up too much with the painting- especially if it ended up taking about the same amount of time.
