Planning a trip with DH and DS(will be 5 at the time of trip 10/2005) Would love to stay on site but one factor we are facing is that my DH will have to continue his online courses. We thought maybe a suite would be better so he could work at a desk and a separate room during the evenings when our DS is sleeping. Working on his laptop is kind of difficult in a small standard room. Also on a small trip in June to Hershey PA we stayed at a hotel with a microwave/refrig. It was nice with a 3 yr old. I have seen mixed reviews on both hotels. We also love the downtown disney area/Crossroads. We will have a car. Any positive votes for Doubletree Guest Suites or Embassy Suites LBV? We will be at the Disney parks during the day.

Thanks
Magalex

you could also try
www.skyauction.com
bid on a 2-bedroom - silver lake, sheraton's vistana, embassy, Hilton grand vacation club - to name a few

also if price is not a problem -

DVC (disney Vacation club) - you can rent points from a member and stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom plenty of room. and be on property.

fw cabins would also be fine for your purpose - and also on property.

Hi

I just booked two nights at the Embassy suites near US/IOA on Hotwire for $152. for 2 nights in late November - never stayed but all reviews I have found on line are mostly favorable - I'll let you know although it will be a while. It was difficult to purchase the hotel suites through Hotwire w/o knowing the name of the hotel but I have searched many travel sites since this purchase,(expedia,travelocity,orbitz,hotel.com hotel kingdom and the Embassy Sutes site itself) and the cheapest I found it was for$110 each night. So I feel the price was fair. Okay I strayed off subject - SORRY! In regards to Embassy Suite - I'll let you know.

We stayed at Embassy Suites LBV last December and loved it. The free cooked-to-order breakfast was a huge bonus. Unless something drastic has happened between then and now, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Thanks for the positive reply about Embassy Suites. Did you stay in the room with pool view or atrium view? Just like to know if the atrium rooms are quiet. Could you tell me what restuarants are near by? It depends upon our budget..but our choices would be onsite Pop century or offsite Embassy Suites LBV.

Thanks

Magalex,

We stayed in an atrium view room. I purposely wanted to be away from the pool because of the possible noise issue. We actually stayed on ground level. At first I was worried about it because of it being right outside the dining area, but we ended up loving the convenience of just walking out of our room for the breakfast. I don't recall it being loud at all.

As far as restaurants....you are just down the road from the main strip and there are TONS of them. There is also a Winn-Dixie just down the road a liittle ways. When you come out of the Palm Parkway area, turn right and the store is on the right side a mile or so away.

If I can figure out how to PM, I'll send you a great link to look out.....

I'm glad to hear the positive reviews on Embassy Suites LBV. We are staying there in November and I was doubting myself after reading reviews on Tripadvisor.com. I booked this for my family (husband, 2 girls 6 & 9) and friends who have a 9 and 12 yo. When you're the one making the arrangements, you want to do everything right.

We stayed at The Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista last December. We were very happy with it. The only things I didn't like was 1) that our couch was very hard and I couldn't get comfortable on it. But that's just me. And 2) There weren't hardly any Christmas decorations around. I think all they had was a tree in the entry way.

The Courtyard noise in the morning (until about 9:30 or 10) is loud, although in the bedrooms, you won't hear any of it. The free breakfast was fantastic, they offer just about anything you can think of. And it saved us ALOT of money! The atmosphere was very nice, the atrium area is very relaxing. .

It's very close to Downtown Disney. We went there alot.

Either way I don't think you could go wrong. I've been reading some really good reviews about The Double Tree Suites. Although, a year ago, the reviews were not very good....oh well.

Good Luck!!:hyper:
