Hello,
We are thinking of staying at the Embassy Suites International Drive South(not the Jamaican Court Embassy).Would love to know what other people have thought about it good and bad.Looks great in the brochure and on there website but we all know thats not always the case. Thanks in advance to all who post to me.x.

We stayed there in 1997 or so, and it was fine. I've also stayed at Jamaican Court and Altamonte Springs Embassy Suites, and the Jamaican Court property was the nicest of the three.

But the I-Drive South location was clean and comfortable, although like I said that was ten years ago.

Hi Anne,
Thanks for your info.As long as its clean thats all that really matters. It states on the website that it was refurbished in 2005.x.

Anyone else stayed more recent???? Welcome any comments.x.

Hello-Somebody,Anybody stayed at the Embassy Suites International Drive South?????????????

I stayed there last May with my family. Our rooms where in the main courtyard building right near the elevators. Very clean and quiet. I'd highly recomend a room in the main courtyard area. Some of the rooms in the back area were a bit more of a hike. The rooms in the courtyard area were quiet even when the bar was at full swing which was a concern when we first checked in. The rooms were well insulated - we never heard a peep from outside.

The free full breakfast was great everyday. We were a party of 8 and it was the perfect quick way to get started everyday. They'd have eggs, omlets cooked to order, sausage/bacon, and either french toast or mickey pancakes everyday. There were also stations set up with fresh fruit, baked goods and cereals. One of the gentlemen who worked there was a lot of fun. He'd give us new names and remember us every morning. He'd usually have my mickey pancakes started before I even got up to him in line. In the evenings there was also a great complimentary happy hour. We only got to take advantage of it on our first day, but it was fun.

The only time we had a problem was on a Friday or Saturday night (I can't remember which now) when we got back to the hotel after a long day at the parks and couldn't find a parking spot in the lot. The bar was really hopping that night and it was really irritating to have to drive around looking for a spot. Management finally directed us to just park in the valet lot with no charge. Luckily it was only the one night. The rest of the trip we had no problems at all.

I'd stay there again in a heart beat. I'm staying onsite for my next trip in Oct. but my brother and sil are staying there again at the end of Aug. If you have any questions, let me know.

Well, I was there about 7 years ago (and at the Jamaican Court location a couple of years ago).

I was very satisfied with both of them (probably did like the JC location best). I think there's a trolley stop outside the South location, and it's closer to the Convention Center.

The breakfasts were wonderful at both of them. The South location has two pools (one outside, one inside) while the JC one had one indoor/outdoor pool.

Are you by any chance going to be attendind a convention? If so, there's a new gated condo complex (Vista Cay) next to the convention center that has 2 and 3 BR condos and townhouses that can be gotten for a pretty good rate. We're probably going to be staying there Thanksgiving week. http://www.vistacayrent.com/ (Some are better deals than others.)

Good luck!

Thank you for your info, much appreciated. No we are not attending a convention(but thanks again for info on this),we just wanted to stay further up the 'nicer' end of I-Drive.Have stayed many a time at Holiday Inn and Quality Inn but wanted something a bit more 'upmarket' so to speak.Plus its great to have a seperate living/sleeping area what with having 2 children.x.

IfYouHadWings,
Thanks also for your information, would be grateful for you to give an update to me once your brother stays there, just to make sure its still as good as you say it was when you went.
Also did you know(or your brother)that they are currently renovating the rooms, new furniture, curtains, throws etc...I am a member of the Hilton Honours awards program and i received an email about general info on all Hilton Hotels and it lists this one as currently under renovation.I believe they are starting on the top(8th floor)first and working there way down.
We cant actually picture the location of this hotel, would you say its near Bahama Breeze,Tony Romas end?.x.

Last May we were staying on the 6th or 7th floor and our room looked like it had been remodeled fairly recently. So they may have started in that main building on the upper floors and were working down and out. I think I remember hearing a few people who were staying in the rooms out by the pool (not the courtyard rooms) saying that their rooms weren't as nice.

Bahama Breeze wasn't far away, but it wasn't right next door. You actually have to turn down a street off of Int'l Drive to get to it and it's the last hotel on the street. I think there was a Ground Round on the corner where you turned. It was very close to the Downtown Disney entrance and the highway. I'd say that Bahama Breeze was maybe 1/2 mile away. I know because my brother and sil ate there quite a bit on the trip.

I'll update when they get back.

Thanks very much,We love Bahama Breeze great atmosphere and food, and love them cocktails(strawberry pina colada).Did you use the shuttle buses? How frequent were they?.We dont drive by the way.x.

We didn't use the shuttles at all. We drove down last year in 3 cars so we'd just drive to the parks. I'm definitely looking forward to just flying down this year. I love my family, but after 2 days in the car I had enough of them.:)

As i said we dont drive but i think if we did THAT would get to me as well!!!!.(but we both mean it in a nice way).x.

I think there may be some confusion here. ES South is on I-Drive. It sounds like If U Had Wings may have stayed at the ES Lake Buena Vista (since it was close to Downtown Disney).

This property is located about 1 mile north of the Convention Center. If you're going north, it's on the left side of the road.

Thanks horseshowmom,i thought 'close to Downtown Disney' did'nt sound right, but hey what do i know!!!!!!
Oh well back to square 1 again..................

Anybody out there who can help me,who has stayed recently at the EMBASSY SUITES INTERNATIONAL DRIVE SOUTH(near to the convention centre, not the one on Jamaican court). Thanks in advance:thumbsup2.x.

Sorry about that. I went on the Embassy Suites site and actually the one I stayed at was neither of the ones mentioned but this one. It was right near the downtown Disney entrance.

Good luck finding the info you need!
