The South Embassy Suites is much closer to
Disneyland than the North option, but it is still a long walk. Our family walked swiftly with teens and did it between 25 minutes to half an hour each way.
That was the LONGEST walk at the end of the day.
We took the bus the next few days, but the one stop accomodated several LARGE hotels, all filled to the brim with people headed to Disneyland. There were times we were in line but didn't get on the bus and had to wait 20+ minutes for the next bus.
On the plus side, the breakfast was nice, our room was GREAT, and Buca's is right in the parking lot. (We are a Buca loving family)
We prefer to stay at the Embassy Suites North because the breakfast was nicer, the shuttle is free and dedicated to only Embassy Suites North and it was less expensive. We found we got to and from the Embassy Suites North, on average, quicker than the South version, even though the south is closer.
The North version also has a wonderful indoor pool. The only downside is that the North version is a bit older, though our room was recently remodeled, and there is a recycling center on one side which can be noisy.
We just ask to be in a Quiet room, and they have always complied.
Hope that helps.
