Embassy South or Buena Park?

I think I've got it narrowed down to ES Buena Park and South locations. I'm hoping someone can give me their personal experience and opinions in comparing these 2 locations. I also looked into North, but they allow pets (which would not be a good thing for my DS who is allergic).

It appears BP has their own transportation vs South which rely on ART. Can anyone confirm this? BTW, this is for a trip for my DS (soon to be 8) and I for a long weekend trip in Feb '06.

TIA

I haven't stayed at the ES South, but have stayed at the one in BP and we loved it. Their shuttle is great and we never had any problems with it - even with going back to hotel for a nap and swim in the afternoons. My family really likes Embassy Suites and the one in Buena Park was one of our favorites.

The ES South definitely uses ART, I looked into it on our last trip but ended up staying at HoJo instead. It was just DD and I so we didn't need the larger room that we usually do and HoJo was so much less it made more sense to stay there.

I think the only "drawback" to Embassy Suites South is the ART. I am not a fan - although others don't seem to mind it at all.

You just can't go wrong with any Embassy Suites property IMO.

Too funny, I was just going to say that Buena Park is one of our least favorite ES. :rotfl:
Guess the diff strokes for diff folks thing is right on. ;)

We've stayed at both properties.

Maybe I was just not prepared for the BP ES
It's an older property with an outdoor courtyard not typical of most ES locations. Our biggest complaint was the age (our room needed some serious updating) and the lack of control when it came to room temp. I think I read that the temp. problem has since been corrected, and they're always updating, so niether of these issues may be a problem for you.
They did offer a complimentary shuttle to DL. They ask that you schedule your times with the front desk in advance and give a 2 hour notice (they will work with you on this) I'd say it's about a 15 min drive to/from the parks.

ES South is much newer and closer to the parks. It has the indoor atrium with waterfalls, etc. I'd say it's only about a mile away from DL in Garden Grove. The down side here is that they do use ART. (at least that's a down side in my book)
If you have a car parking can be a bit tight - but that goes for all the newer hotels in this general area.

Let me know if you have any specific questions I can help with.

I really think you'll be fine at either one. Good luck deciding!

The BP ES is definitely not your "typical" ES. But that's why I like it. I love the outdoor courtyard and the giant pepper tree by the pool. All the landscaping and plants outside give it more of a 'California Vacation' feel for me. I like the layout of the rooms better too. I believe they have renovated all the rooms now.

I really like Embassy Suites, I think they are a good value and their service, cleanliness, etc.. is first rate. The one in Buena Park is the only one I've stayed in that isn't a big "box" style building with the giant atrium and I liked the difference.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

thanks everyone.....I went ahead and booked ES-BP this morning. I love the ES chain, but wish some had a little more character, so I think I will like it!
