is the only way I can describe FOTL. Stayed at the HRH, from 6/18-6/20, which was a great experience. But FOTL is awesome, well worth the price of staying onsite. It got too a point of trying not too look at the people waiting in line, I would look down while passing them, while my DS - age 7 would brag about having it. Had too cover his mouth a few times, with a smile on my face :)

Yeah, I looked down at the ground when walking thru the doors of Shrek. We got there at noon, the regular line was 90 minutes, we waited 10. As we left the theater, we walked out past the entrance, and I told everyone how lucky we didn't have to wait in that line. Shrek isn't that bad because you walk up to the guard, and go to the other side of the building, so you don't really walk past the regular line.
Same thing for the Mummy, the FOTL line goes to a different side. You can see the people waiting, but there is a wall seperating the two.

I can understand why you would, because I know the looks that you are speaking of. (as you whiz past them in line)

But with out someone announcing it, the people would have no idea if you had an express pass from one of the machines, or if your were using your room key! Meaning that they could have had the same privilage!

I pay more to stay on site. I am not abusing the privilage, nor am I rubbing it in anyones face.
With a little reseach & some Disboard magic, (or an express pass, available for free!) they could be in the very same line!!!

The bad places are where the express and regular lines merge near the loading area like Dudley and Popeye. Regular liners throw elbows and comments.

I hold my head up proudly as I speed through the express line :teeth: . Nothing is stopping the regular liners from staying onsite if they want the FOTL access that goes along with it.
Even if they dont know about it after seeing 2 or 3 queues with people speeding by you, wouldnt you ask an employee about it?

About Shrek, on the Fri. when I was there, they did not have FOTL lanes, there even was a worker shouting that there was no express lanes. But on Sat. as we walked by they were available.
Don't know why that was.

Also, Spiderman rocks!!!!! it was one of the main reasons I wanted too do UO/IOA, my DS loved it, I have too admit so did I, one of the better rides I ever been on. Did it 5 times, thanks to FOTL.

For Shrek, it's not a lane anymore.
You walk up to the entrance doors of the theater, and you'll be met by a guard. You flash your room key, and you go into a line on the far (exit) side of the building. There are ropes, so a line can form, but you are away from the regular crowd.

That's the confusion, there is no sign that says Express. You have to walk up to the guard and enter on the far side. When the doors open, the express people are let in from the left side (facing the building), then the regular line goes from the right side.

I feel wonderful when I use my hotel room card for FOTL. I feel wonderful staying at the HRH. It is worth paying extra for. It is why we are returning to Universal this year and not to Disney (plus Disney is way too much $$$$$$).

I'm with you BarbaraMB! If Disney would do FOTL at their hotels I would go back tomorrow, but I simply can't take their lines.

Do the Shrek attendants still call themselves Henchmen?

Do you think that it would even be possible to have on site hotel guests have FOTL with Disney? There are so many on site people and with fast pass holders I would think the express line would be long. I would really feel sorry for anyone standing in the regular line. It works for Universal. It is a great concept for other themed parks to do. They should build one or two on site resorts and offer guests FOTL.

Even a FOTL booklet that you could purchase at Disney would be good. Even if they didnt want to sell it to everyone, sell it to the onsite guests only or maybe AP holders. Something along those lines.

Have to admit most of the time I walk quickly as I pass the long line of people and avoid making eye contact - Only once did I relish in FOTL - I did the "royal wave" as I passed a long line of people to get in the HRC.....:teeth:

Yes. In fact, here's a rundown of attractions and what their attendants are called:

Shrek: Henchmen
BTTF: Lab Assistants
Jaws: Skippers
T2: Cyberdyne security (I think)
Mummy: Casting Directors, Imhotep's Minions, Archaeologists
MIB: Agents
Hulk: Gamma technicians
Doom: Latverian Officials
Spider-Man: Daily Bugle wokers (not sure of the exact term)
Ripsaw: Mounties
Jurassic Park: Park Rangers, Carnivore Handlers, Game Wardens
Dueling Dragons: Peasants

Thanks Dark. I think they appreciate being called their titles rather than "Hey buddy!".

I remember last July when we were at about our 3rd day of using fotl. We rode a couple of things such as MIB a couple of times in a row. As we went past the regular line and saw familiar faces still standing about the same area, I told the kids "just don't make eye contact" lol At one point during the week, we were doing a couple of attractions that my 14 yr. old didn't want to do. He went to MIB and rode "several" times while waiting for the rest of us to finish other attractions. He said the attendant scanning his room key was timing his laps from ride entrance to exit. When his time was around 5 min., she told him just to start waiting in the babyswap area inside. The rest of us did two other attractions and got snacks before he finally decided to make an appearance outside! And I STILL don't think he got his fill of that ride! ........actually, I'm kinda looking forward to doing that one again too ::yes::

And then there's the VIP tour, where there is no wait at all....

Well I think I should hold me head high. I'm glad when I get to use FOTL and why should I be embarrassed about it. After all "I PAID FOR IT." It is like flying First Class. You get what you pay for.

Looking forward to doing it again!
