Embarrassing Moments! Share so we can laugh at - I mean WITH - you.

I'll start...
At the Smithsonian on Thursday, I was chaperoning 6 10&11 year old boys. When we got on the elevator I told them to use proper elevator etiquette. They asked what that was. To get a giggle I said NO FARTING!! A little too loud... I got a laugh from the boys and disgusted stares from the other elevator passengers.

One of mine was at Disney. We were checking into the Yacht Club. We walk in and DH sees the greeter, the guy dressed as a Commodore I believe. DH says very loudly, "Oh look, it's Captain Crunch!" My 2 boys start laughing along with DH as I slink off to check in. We are just not Yacht Club people! :rotfl: We were staying there because we were attending a Disney wedding and got a good rate. We have since gone back to French Quarter.

About 22 years ago while I was in nursing school I was a receptionist/office person for a Dialysis clinic. I wore business attire so most days I had on skirts and pantyhose. Ppl actually still wore hose back then. I had gone to the bathroom...not sure if you can predict where this is going... I went to the bathroom and after I used it I walked back into my office, walked around the clinic, doing my thing, for at least AN HOUR before someone finally told me "Peggy your skirt is stuck in the top of your pantyhose and your underwear is showing." My skirt got caught in the waistband of my hose and was folded up with half of my hiney and underwear showing. I know a dozen ppl had to see it before someone finally told me. I am sure I was the "butt" of all the clinic jokes for weeks.

Another time I got embarrassed we were going to a new restaurant here in town and the town I live in is very hilly in the downtown area kind of like San Fran only not quite as severe. The restaurant was on the side of a hill and you had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up the hill to get to the restaurant. Right as you got to the front of the place there was a set of stairs you have to go up. A big group of ppl had just come out the front door and I tripped UP the stairs and instead of catching myself I made sure I held onto my purse and basically fell flat on my face in front of half the restaurant. I know my husband had to be more embarrassed than I was but that was pretty humiliating. My kids were actually laughing at me. I don't blame them because if I had seen me fall I would have laughed too. Any time I see ppl fall it makes me laugh. I don't know why it is so funny to me. I'm inappropriate I guess. =)

While walking through New Fantasyland a couple of weeks ago, I turned around to announce to my friend who I thought was right behind me, "I'm going to the bathroom". "Okay" said two young men who were complete strangers to me, who were now between me and my friends.

I teach Kindergarten, and a State Trooper came to my classroom to talk about his job. I recognized him right away, as the officer who had pulled me over for speeding a couple of years earlier (he didn't give me a ticket, he was really nice and let me off with a warning).

So during the question and answer portion, one of my kids asked, "Do you know our teacher, Mrs. Minnie?" The officer said, "As a matter of fact, I do!" And I was MORTIFIED to think that he would tell my students that he had pulled me over for speeding!! I started rambling about signs not being posted clearly, being very tired and not realizing I was going so fast, etc., when I noticed a confused look on the officer's face.

And he said to my students, "My wife went to college with Mrs. Minnie, and she came to our house for dinner several years ago."

And I was like, "Riiiiiighhhhhtttt!" :rotfl:

While eating at Crocketts's Tavern at Fort Wilderness, our server came over and introduced himself. He said hello my name is Mustafa. So I became excited and loud and said.........Ohhhhhh like the Lion King and I shout out MUSTAFA..... (like the movie hahaha) and he says Um excuse me Miss... thats Mufasa in the movie. My kids nearly spit out there chocolate milk. I guess I thought he chose a fake name but he didn't it was his real name. Not one of my finer moments!!!

This past Thursday I was meeting some clients, a couple, for the first time.

I was standing near the door as it opened.

I went to the door and stuck my hand out and said: "Mr Lewis, it's nice to meet you, I'm Bob."

The response: "I'm Mrs Lewis."

Ughhhhhhh

Oooo, I feel for you...I had exactly the same thing happen to me except I was working for a homebuilder in an office full of construction guys. Apparently they drew straws to choose who had to tell me.

I wore my shirt backwards to church today. It's a scoop neck so it was probably pretty obvious to people that it was on wrong. Not super embarrassing but more funny I guess

We were staying at the East wing of the Contemporary. There was a cast member at the elevator who was greeting people and such. We said hello and got in the elevator. We went up and when the door opened, he was standing there. He looked at us like we were nuts. He tried making us believe that we had not gone up at all and at first we went along with it! Eventually, we discovered he had run up the stairs. Another way that cast members make the trip even more magical and memory filled!

Oh I just remembered another one!!!
My first week at work I noticed the clock in my lab was wrong. I climbed up a ladder to change it & a big poof of dust fell in my face. I brushed it off & forgot about it.
I had lunch with my boss that day. He kept looking up at my hair the entire lunch! It kind of creeped me out. That night when I got home DH asked what in the world I had in my hair?!? He then reached in and pulled out a DEAD FLY!!!

Once I was going through the Steak and Shake drive through driveway and was behind this pickup that was taking FOREVER (I was a little preoccupied about a Dr. appt wasn't paying much attention). Anyway, I'm thinking "Geeze, this guy must be ordering for a freaking party" when an employee came to my car and asked if he could help me. I said I'd been waiting forever for the guy ahead of me to order. The employee looked at the truck, and then looked at me and started cracking up laughing.

Well, come to find out, there was a little driveway behind the restaurant, and I had mistakenly pulled up behind an employee's truck (which was empty) which was parallel to bushes to where the other driveway was where orders were taken. :headache: Doh!

Okay, my story is insanely embarrassing! This is long, but you won't regret reading it!

About 2 years ago, my best friend was having her wedding shower. We have lived in different cities for about 10 years, so I didn't expect to know any of the people who would be at the shower. The shower was being held at the house of one of the doctors that she works for....it was in a really nice neighborhood with really expensive houses.

My mom and I had some trouble finding the house, and we were running late. Finally, we find the house and there are balloons and decorations outside and people going in with wedding presents. So, we go inside this house and give our presents to the lady opening the door. We sit down and introduce ourselves. I didn't know anyone, but this wasn't too odd, since I didn't expect to know them. I figured my best friend wasn't there yet or in another room.

Well, after about 20 minutes of sitting there and chatting with these ladies we didn't know, I started getting worried. And then, this girl walks in with a "Bride to Be" sash on and it wasn't my best friend!

Come to find out, we had showed up at the wrong house!!!! The house we were supposed to be at was like 4 doors down. There just happened to be another wedding shower going on in the same neighborhood at the same time!

My Mom and I were mortified!!!! We had to tell them we were in the wrong house and ask for our presents back and leave! We referred to ourselves as Shower Crashers for months afterwards!

SOOOOOOOOO embarrassing!

At eight months hugely pregnant, I was coming out of the hospital elevator after visiting a friend who had just had a baby. I was putting on my coat (flinging it around my shoulders, as you do) when every button of my maternity blouse popped open, giving a nearby family a close-up view of my huge belly and (temporarily) oversized b**bs. The woman gasped and tried to cover her kid's eyes and the man kind of giggled. And the awful thing is, I wouldn't have even noticed it except I felt a slight cool breeze across my middle so I looked down and there was my belly!

This might be the funniest thing I have ever read!

A few years back I took my DD's to the Great Wolfe Lodge. The girls were in the wave pool and all of the sudden the lifeguard starts blowing her whistle like crazy and they started evacuating the pool. I see a life guard jump in and pull a teenager to the surface. She puts a plastic device on his head and starts doing mouth to mouth. I am panicking, where is his family or friends:confused3 they must be scared to death. I am gripping a pole by the pool. I bow my head and pray earnestly. After a few minutes a lady comes over to me and says," uh mam this is not real; it's just a drill, they are practicing". I say, uh...me too!:rotfl:

While at WDW with my family my DH took our tired DS back to the room so I could stay and enjoy Wishes one evening. I bought a cup of soda and found a place to stand on the Tomorrowland bridge to watch the fireworks. After the show was done I was in that happy Disney state of mind... you know what I'm talking about, right? Not wanting my alone time in the park to be over, I turned to head back into Tomorrowland, and I went to take a drink of soda. I don't know if it was because I was walking, it was dark, that I was in that happy Disney state of mind or what, but I some how ended up with the straw in my nose! And in my startled state I jerked back and the straw stayed in my nose! Yeah, nothing like standing in a crowd with a straw up your nose...That was a harsh snap out of a Disney haze and back to reality!

Definitely one of my finer moments...

In Washigtion Dc, downtown, it like 7pm, so theres people everywere. Did I mention it was 4th in July weekend? So me and best friend and her mom are walking to the metro. I notice a grating up ahead and think nothing of it, we have these in our town for drainage. Well, this one wasnt for drainage, it blew AIR!! I still have no clue why it blew air! Well, it blew air and fluffed up my skirt, exposing my very ummm unlady like underwear to a whole heck of alot of people (mostly teachers who were staying at our hotel!)

This just happened to me a few days ago. I was walking my dog when I saw a neighbor that was bringing her dog for a walk too. I've seen her before and our dogs like to say hello. We chatted for a few minutes in front of her porch and I realized there were two super cute guys sitting out there. When I went to leave I smiled at the guys. What I didn't realize was that my dog had wrapped her leash around my legs and I tripped when trying to walk away. I'm so smooth.

I was so embarrassed. They were really hot!

My husband and I crashed a wedding reception similarly. The reception was in a Chinese restaurant and we were some of the very few guests who spoke English. As we walked into a restaurant we saw a sign, with everything written in Chinese except their names. We saw his coworker and his bride having their pictures taken in a room off to the side. So we followed the crowd to the wedding reception, signing our names on some sort of ceremonial cloth and turning over our gift. There was some confusion about seating us because they couldn't find our names on the seating chart. At that point an employee who spoke English mentioned that there was another wedding. Sure enough, DH's friend's reception was upstairs. We had to retrieve our gift, which involved finding that English speaking employee to accomplish. We always wonder what the bride and groom thought of our signature and well wishes on their cloth!

I have to say, that was probably the funnest reception I've ever been to and I knew no one but DH. He was the only friend from work invited and we were seated at a table with the only other English speakers there and one person who knew a little Chinese and tried to interpret for us. There were lots of speeches and toasts and it was fun to try to figure out what they were saying based on the crowd reactions!
