Embarkation lunch

I booked last minute for an upcoming cruise. We have one of the last times to get onto the ship. I was wondering how long lunch is served in Cabanas, and if we'll be able to make it to that. What time do they stop serving in Cabanas on embarkation day?

Thanks

We have friends who boarded the Fantasy on Saturday. They checked in very late and were only able to get a 3:00 pm PAT. I told them they might miss lunch and I am anxious to hear what they say when they get back. I told them the quick serve food should be open but I thought Cabanas and the MDR would be closed.

They should be open later.

I think they should be open later too. My PAT is 1:00, but I've been reading that things are very delayed getting onto Alaska cruises this year, so I'm expecting to be on the ship later than that.

Cabanas did close in the afternoon, but the pool deck locations were only closed for a short time during the muster drill. So, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and shwarma will be available almost all afternoon.

Which ship serve shwarma?

We had no trouble and boarded very quickly a few weeks ago. They weren’t strictly enforcing PAT in Vancouver, so you can probably plan to get there a little bit before 1:00. The biggest delay people had was not having their paperwork in order: ArriveCAN, safe passage QR code, day of health screening, etc. If you’ve done all that, you can skip several steps and go straight to the check in desk. We breezed right through, but our friends took longer since they had to stop and do those things.

I'm also off a recent Alaskan cruise on the Wonder, and agree that things are much quicker if you have your paperwork all done. We had our paperwork completed before we arrived at the port, and went through all the checkpoints quickly.

You can keep checking for different embarkation times. I booked a last minute cruise and had a late time ( like 2:00pm). I checked daily and ended up with a 10:30 time eventually.

Thanks for this info. We'll try arriving a little early and see what happens.

I've been checking multiple times a day, every day. No luck so far, but I'll keep trying.

Or, while in Canada, go to Tim Horton’s across from Canada Place for coffee and donuts. There’s a food court, also.
