It was an issue with the impossible sofa sleeper in a studio at Saratoga Springs. Never in my life have I had such miserable nights trying to sleep of that "mattress". They did call me but was unable to say that they were making moves toward getting better sleepers. Never again.

They are pretty horrid for the sleeping aspect. Same with the ones at VGF. Have slept on both. If you are not someone who can "sleep anywhere" there are tough.

I doubt better sleepers are anywhere on the horizon, but if the get enough complaints..,

THEN FOR GOD'S SAKE, LET THE COMPLAINING BEGIN. THE SOFA SLEEPERS AT ART OF ANIMATION ARE BETTER THAN WHAT I HAD.

We did a split stay in December at SSR and BWV in studios, starting with 2 nights at SSR. Our two sons, 15 and 8, shared the sleeper and both complained about how uncomfortable it was. At BWV, the 15 year old slept on the pull out and the 8 year old slept on the Murphy bed and both said the arrangements were far more comfortable. We did stop by the check in desk at SSR and complain about the sleeper being uncomfortable. Hopefully they will eventually get newer, better sleepers because it was so bad that SSR is now at the bottom of our list of DVC resorts.

I've use the sleeper at BWV, BLT, and BCV and all were just fine. But I used the sleeper at OKW and OMG it was the worse ever. It was like sleeping on an excercise mat. I got no sleep at all. You could even feel the folds where it folds up inside. I think the one at AKV Kidani was almost as bad, but it sounds like OKW and SSR may have the same. I feel your pain OP.

I slept on the sleeper sofa for a week at BCV back in 2014 and thought it wasn't bad at all. This was after sleeping the first night on the king bed in a 1BR which I thought was very uncomfortable (too hard - JMO). DW slept alone on the king for the last 7 days.

I wonder what the new beds and sleeper sofas at BCV will be like.

I almost always sleep on the sleeper in sofa form. I find it far more comfortable.

I think the AKL sofa beds are different?? They seem to be the temperpedic foam and are built into the couch. Is that correct?

Agree with the first point, but I think I would sleep on the floor if I needed, to stay at Disney vs. not go.

I've always left sleeper sofas to the kiddies so no first hand experience here. However, when SSR first opened the sleepers were widely regarded as being a dramatic improvement on all prior DVC resorts.

If it was that bad, I would have called maintenance to see about a replacement mattress or an "egg crate." Never hurts to ask.

The sofa frames are designed to go many years before being replaced. But the mattresses should still be swapped out periodically.

Yup, horrible for sitting, but great for sleeping ... and, since I'm usually the one sleeping on it, I'm ok with that. (Good for both would be ideal, goes without saying.)

Are the sleeper sofas at Kidani the same as BLT?
