Email rates & "blackout dates"

To everyone that was lucky enough to receive the email discount & pin #.....

I got mine Saturday for the $49 value resort rate and assumed I wouldn't be able to take advantage of that great price because my dates were 4 nights beginning 11/11 (blackout dates were listed as 11/10 - 11/13). Anyway, I finally called this morning, using the special phone number in the email -- you have to put your pin # in before the CSR gets on the phone. I told her I received the email with the pin # and asked if there was anything available at the All Star Sports for my dates. She checked and said they were available for $49/nite! So I asked about a room in the preferred bldgs. & they were also available for $59/nite.

I ended up booking in the preferred bldgs. for a total of $267.00 including taxes. No mention was made of any blackout dates!!!!

Yipee!!!!!!!! Super Soap Weekend here I come!!!!!!!!!

Who did you get the email from? Where did you sign up to get the email?

The email came from Disney & no one really knows why some get them and some don't (same for the postcards). Check the other messages on this board - there have been dozens on this subject in the last few days.

I have had a October ressie for months now and finally called CRO today w/a code from a friend. Of course she said "that requires a pin#", so I asked how I could better my chances of getting a post card or email. She said it is totally up to the marketing department (who is chosen and why.)

Then she asked for my email address, home address and phone #(to verify my home address). She said "I don't see a pin# attached to any of these" meaning if I had received a post card or email offer CRO would know about it and could see it in their computer.

I guess my thoughts are that the marketing department has a specific "target" for each separate email, postcard, whatever. If you get code/pin, you are the lucky one. If not, maybe next time. I will love staying at WDW all the same.
