Email notification on subscribed threads

Are you receiving email notifications on subscribed threads? Several of us are no longer receiving email notifications even though our settings are set to receive the notifications. After reading a few threads about this on the tech board, it seems that most of us who are having this problem use roadrunner as our internet provider. At first I thought maybe roadrunner was blocking the notifications thinking it was spam. I don't believe that is the case as I just changed my email to my gmail account to receive notifications. My gmail is set up to send directly to my roadrunner account so roadrunner still sees that it is from the DisBoards. The email is going through just fine that way.

I suspect it may be a problem with the settings on the DisBoard itself that has blocked messages to roadrunner. If it were my internet provider causing the blockage, I wouldn't be able to get them to my roadrunner account via gmail.

If you aren't receiving notification, what internet provider do you use? If you do use roadrunner, have you been receiving email notifications?

I used to get the e-mail notifications, and within the last week, I stopped getting them. I am on road runner also.

I also use Roadrunner and I am not getting my notifications. What did you do to be able to receive your email notifications with Roadrunner?

I am getting other emails with no problem, I just don't get the notifications from the DIS. I use Roadrunner.

I have a gmail account. I changed my user information on the DisBoards to my gmail (email) account. My gmail is set to send all my mail to my roadrunner account. So when the DisBoard sends out a notification, it goes to me at gmail.com. Then gmail sends it straight to roadrunner.

The notification says it is from the DisBoard and roadrunner isn't blocking it so I think it is a problem with the DisBoard blocking roadrunner email NOT with roadrunner blocking Disboard emails, if that makes sense.

So if I have a yahoo account also, and change my email here on Dis to send it to my yahoo (instead of RoadRunner), and just set up my Outlook to check both of my accounts, then the email notifications would probably come through again?

Email services block spam, not internet providers. It would be the roadrunner email program causing the problem. That is why you get the email at gmail.


I would go crazy if I got emails on all my subscribed threads! To me, it is much easier to just check User CP.

Roadrunner is not blocking it. Yes, I get it through gmail but gmail is sending it through my roadrunner email account.

I am using Roadrunner and receiving email notifications. They are a little slow sometimes but I am getting them.

I haven't received regular notifications for a few months. I have a verizon account and every now and then I get a WHOLE BUNCH of notifications. I agree, it's just easier to go to the user CP and check out what's new.

I just had trouble where another account wasn't getting email through to my rr account. This is what their tech support emailed me: "It appears that rr was blocking mail coming from your server because it did not have a reverse record in place. I have added one, please allow a few hours for this change to propagate around the internet." Perhaps the DIS just needs to add a reverse record for those of us that are on rr?

I have RoadRunner as an ISP, but I do not in any way use a Roadrunner email address. I use Yahoo, and I don't get any emails either.

I'm on roadrunner and I just started getting them for a thread I didn't ever request it. Not sure what the heck is up with that, but I wound up filtering my e-mail just so I wouldn't have to get the e-mails anymore... nothing I could change here would make it stop

So definitely not a road runner issue here since I don't even want these in the first place!
