Email help

Help!!

My email account seems to have been disabled! It won't let me send or receive emails.

I have receibed a number of bizarre emails today from ebay.com (which I never have used but have registered with in the past), which pertain to listings etc that I have never made. In one of their messages they say they will suspend my email account for "my security" but how can this be done by Ebay? I can;t imagine they can have any sway over my email account ... can they?

Seems odd that it has happened at the same time my email has gone duff though?

I am sure I have not changed any settings on my emails.

Anyone got any ideas please??

Karen, can't offer an help regarding email - except can you access it via the web in case it is a large email that is blocking the system.

Regarging the ebay emails they are generally called phishing emails. Under no circumstances click the link in any of these emails. Even if they appear to come from ebay.co.uk and look geniune. SIL had a similar one and afterwards found some crook had hijacked her account and paypal details. The fraudsters managed to sell 100's of mobile phones before ebay re-instated the account.
She had to reset her password with tesco.net

Same here, I get loads of emails from Ebay (I had an account but stopped using it years ago - I'd like to get rid of it and my Paypal account but I can't even remember the passwords to get rid of them.)

It would be worth you going to trhe Norton anti virus web site www.symantec.com as they have a programme to check that your computer is not infected. It does sound a bit like a virus has taken over your email programme
